afaik even altis does not come with ff foglamps.

Agree altis is without fog lamps but toyota is providing space in all these cars and they are producing fog lamps as well according the dimensions of the space provided. Regarding the genuine thingy its not me calling it genuine its toyota's own version

did the person installing the fog lights in your car putted some wire on the battery (took the power from battry or something like that)?

ya he took power from battery which I objected but he showed me the wiring which was incl in the kit, it comes with fuzes and a relay so I allowed him.
Regarding the parking lights , he asked me If I want indep ctrl for fog lamps or associate it with parking lights
That is u switch on parking ligths then u ll get option to turn on or off the fog lamps and turning off parking lights will drain life out of the fog lamps.
I made it parking lights dependent becoz in case it is indep there is possiblity that u can leave the car with the fog lamps remain turned on but with parking lights as soon as u remove the key u can hear a cont beep reminding u to switch off the lights.

I want to ask, how much difference good quality fog lights make when you are driving in fog?
Are they more powerful than head lights?

Sir its not about which light is powerful but the thing is that fog lights emits a concentrated yellowish beam of light at low height cutting thru the fog enabling u to c thru it.

for CNG i paid approx 40k ( cant recall the exact figure)
Cant tell u about millage becasue mostly I am driving it on Petrol and shift to cng only when stuck in traffic jams where u move in inches.
Pick is good mashaAllah on cng

(About CNG though I faced the music but somehow I overcome it by the grace of Allah, having many many pics of that n ll come up with a thread soon inshaAllah to educate ppl regarding tips for gud cng performance in new corolla)

Today there was no fog in peshawar or say very less where u dont need to turn on the lights
so ll update u when i get into thick fog

If you compare the beam of fog lights and the low beam of head lamp on a wall, you can see that the beam of fog light spreads more horizontally whereas beam from head lamps spread less but its more bright.

Also good fog lamps should have a good cut off just like head lights.

Fog lights help the driver to see the road markings and edges and the immediate road ahead. They are not meant for long range beam.

I observed the lights which were installed contain the same bulb which is there in the high beam place of the main headlights. I may b wrong but by apparent appearence they were alike.

No, the two bulbs are different. You can see in the 10th picture of the first post (showing backside of fog lamp) that the bulb is Osram H11. where as the bulb used in Headlight High Beam is 9005 (HB3) and Low Beam is 9006 (HB4).

H11 are 55w bulbs. H9 bulbs can be modified to fit in the sockets of H11 and they are 65w bulbs.

Also as you mentioned earlier, please post some tips and guidelines for installing CNG in 2009 GLi/XLi. My uncle got XLi from hi company and he will install CNG in it after sometime. So you guidelines will help him to avoid problems as there are many unsatisfied users for 2009 XLi/GLi with CNG.

It costed me 9k incl fitting

(Firstly when I asked the parts section guyz they quoted me 9.5 k price excl fitting but then I reminded the manager of ma telephonic talk with him about a month ago in which he agreed to give me the lamps for 9k incl fitting, he smiled and said that though rates has been revised now but no prob I ll keep my words :).
After I recvd the bill , it was reading 9k for fog lights n 1.2k for labour thn I went back to the parts section manager and he made it like 8.5k lights n 500 for labour)
