Sure, I’ve always been someone who judge the car by its looks though its not true for people but a relatively good way to get an idea of how well maintained a car is, for example I wasn't able to find many mark X’s with original paint (bumpers not included). Which I found were either 2500cc cars with milage on a higher side or they were showered.
While buying the car I looked for its engine smoke obviously being an old car and mostly are abused.
Secondly the suspension is double wishbone so anyone driving on old shocks or leaking shocks for a longer period of time would’ve damaged it as well.
Another point was the dashboard but unfortunatly mine has 1 crack as well and I am against new upholstery thing because air bag deployment is an issue.
The leather seats were an issue for me as well, I wanted non cracked leather.
Another point is the transmission, many people complain of Mark X slipping gears which is pretty obvious because we don't have a trend here to change the transmission oil so save your money on that.
Other than these the car is bullet proof IF driven with care, 3grfse was 2jz’s replacement so the engine is gonna last forever.
