Not at all . I am not anti automatic, only anti CVT transmission.
check in the net about problems in grande transmission.
Before purchasing HRV, I had visited toyota township to buy Altis , but manual only, but my children failed it . The reason was the last row had bucket type design seat with curved sides and my children told me that they cannot sit in it comfortably for long drives (northern visits).
They then sat in Grande and approved it and this was because grande's seats were flat both the back and the bottom area, I asked the manager if he could change the seats and charge me for it but he refused. And as grande was cvt, hence I visited honda and my children immediately approved HRV and I purchased it . By the way HRV unfortunately is cvt and I have already faced a problem once in it due to cvt oil heating up. The rear leg space is quite a lot and seeing is believing. But the middle row is a bit raised, but my children told me that they could bear it . But drive of hrv and quite superior and I had visited murree in december then everything was okay. The pick up after 120 is superior to brv manual which may surprise people.
At 120 speed you keep itching to press the accelerator more .you don't feel that you are at that speed.
And my brv is used for long routes like Hunza brv , and for short hauls like murree, i take my hrv.
But manual brv's fuel mileage is quite good and 1.5 cvt cars cannot compare to it. 0 to hundred times is around 10 seconds which i have checked . Not many cars can beat brv upto 100 speed but after that like sportage, tucson etc due to their heavier engine, they will cross brv.
I think that upto 100 speed, brv is the champ. With full load, car usually does not touch from anywhere and this point plus the 7 seat is very important for me.
The front seats are fine and the rear seats may be a bit hard, but the last row is better than 98 % of all the crossovers. Ingress is very good and cannot be compared to Oshan even , not even santa fey or sorento
