The DFSK Glory 580 Pro is costing 46 lacs. My friend recently got one in Rawalpindi and it looks lot better in terms of shape and features but it is way out of my budget

Why don’t you go with normal glory it stats from 37.5 although it will be manual and 40 for cvt

But I do think in 35 lacs Budget brv is decent as it has all the basic features in it like reverse camera dual airbags push start dual ac and most importantly 7 seats

I didn't check the normal DFSK Glory with CVT, I thought only Glory 580 Pro is the available option. I can check it for sure.

Yeah do check it out it has a lot more options like cruise control and sunroof and has a more powerful 1.5 turbo engine

Their is few issues in DFSK glory, Its rear seating position is pathetic, very very low.
Drive line has vibration in low speed.
Brakes are too weaks.
Audio system volume & button problems.
Camera quality is poor & center touch screen is bit misaligned.
Factory filled CVT fluid is low quality, use of local made fluids.

Although vehicle looks is good but how much it will reliable?
Can't match with japanese quality & R&D.

Agreed Honda is one of the most reliable brand around and certainly brv will be better long term
There is a reason glory doesn’t sell much and hasn’t been a success
Brv has been very decent to say the least and has sold pretty nice
But still glory does have advantage of features looks and performance but still brv will be a better investment overall

Both BR-V and Glory seem to have their pros and cons and none of them is perfect car. If one wants to play safe then BR-V looks a better choice.

If we look at the features DFSK Glory is way ahead of BRV. I will not goes in detail but you can watch youtube reviews of DFSK Glory. But If I buy a vehicle my first preference will be engine performance. HONDA iVTECH is trusted technology and we are using it since long and we all are satisfied with this engine I think (some one may differ). We do not know anything about the engine of DFSK vehicle's. I have checked the internet and engine horse power is not same on all websites. DFSK is a new entrant in global Auto market and only few countries has its franchises. In future if they discontinue its production (Example is FAW sirus and V2) it will be impossible to find its spare parts. In comparison BRV is selling in many countries and is a well known model internationally. If it is discontinued in Pakistan even then we can get the parts from global market.

Yes, I agree. Investing in DFSK Glory has some risks compared to Honda BR-V which has a strong presence in the country. There has been concerns on BR-V engine noise, tire noise, door rubbers, and especially cheap plastic interior along with many missing features including center console etc. Some of the concerns have been addressed in latest facelift version but I am still interested to know about engine noise, tire noise, door rubbers and plastic used in interior etc. have they addressed these issues in latest version or not?

These Brv noises problems can be sort out by using sound dampner sheets on inner side of foot wells, under bonnet & under carpet, replace pathetic bg luxo with even lowest price chinese brands make a huge difference. door rubber problem solved now.
Plastic interior parts are very common in almost all vehicle nowadays.
I did'nt feel any noise issue in Brv or other honda engines, maybe it was loose tappet noise which can be solve by adjustment, ivtec delivers amazing power delivery in acceleration.

DFSK Glory 1.5 Turbo (at least non pro version) is known to have problems in hilly areas. Since you want to explore northern areas please keep this in mind. Once you brake on an incline, you might need to have the car towed to get up the hill.

1. the delivery time of BR-V these days from the date of booking? and the booking procedure with Honda?
2. Any suggestions / pre-cautions while doing the booking? I am considering Honda Ring Road because it is closer to my place
3. I heard there is a WhatsApp group of Honda BR-V owners, I appreciate if someone share its link as well

Please keep one thing in mind while booking the car. Do not give cash or check to the dealer. Make a Pay order on the name of company I think it was like "Honda Atlas cars ltd" (confirm exact name of company from dealership).

Points to be noted:

1. BRV has seven seats. The last seats are okay and have space too but your legs are raised a bit.

2. It has specially designed lower gears (lower gear ratios) as compared to honda city 1.5 (whose engine is being used in BRV).

3. These lower gears especially in the manual which i have , provide a good pick even more than that of Honda City 1.5.

4. The gears reach red line pretty quickly and as the manual has 6 gears, so for best fuel economy you have to reach the higher gears. But this translates to very good pick.

5. I have manual BRV because I need full power of the car for mountain climbing and i will not consider an automatic and in no way will i consider a CVT transmission. BRV S has CVT gear which eats up 18% minimum of the cars power. You need this power if you are fully loaded with 7 persons and need to climb especially from Chilas to Babusar top for example.

6. Regarding Glory , they have a problem in hill climbing, and the company hasn't come forward to say that they have solved this problem.

7 I was seriously considering Glory but due to this hill climbing problem and the problem of parts, i stopped considering it.

1. you will have to get the BRV glass / ceramic coated as Honda's paint is not very good and had scratches on all of the cars standing in the showroom at that time.

2. i needed a car with more seats, better than normal milage, good pick and good after sales at all places and BRV fits in this matter.

Rest is up to you. In my mind i am still drawn to Glory if only it didn't have this hill climbing problem. BRV weight is 1200 kg or so and Glory weight is 1500 kg. So even buying Glory pro with 1800 cc engine, its pick will still be less than that of other 1800 cc cars and the 2000 cc sportage.
