Alternative to Di-Electric Grease

I have 92 accord and recently I had to do some wiring and noticed that after these all years the grease in its connectors is holding the rust back. No connector is corroded yet result is perfect conductivity. However if you go and ask a shop keeper that do you have Di-Electric Grease and they will say "Bahi pata nahi wo kia hota ha sample dekhio to pata lage". What is good alternative to that? Petroleum Jelly ?

dielectric grease = silicone grease

check the threads for it - its packaged by Harris in Pakistan and is sold as O ring grease.

Update: this is available from Brandth Road but is too expensive like 5000 per kg

buy about 100 grams of it, 1KG will last you a very long time (daarhi safaid hojayegi)

sort of a viscosity standard, nlgi 0 is the least viscous, nlgi 1 is more viscous and nlgi 2 is even more viscous

@margallar what exactly you are looking for, I may be able to source. everything is available & at times even the shop keeper have no idea what is actual application of product. Some times a very expensive product is available dirt cheap because vendor does not know what it is and willing to get rid of it and at times it is vice versa

I've used this vtech vital grey rtv on a couple of valve covers and its holding pretty strong. You can give it a shot. It comes in grey and red. It was easily available in pindi when I got it. Not sure about lahore though.

I think you are refering to Conductive Grease....it is used on electric terminals, connectors and joints to prevent corrosion....
Di-electric material is an insulator...even a tiny film of it between connectors would hinder the electric flow...both conductive and di-electric greases are silicone based though highly different in properties.......

silicone di electric is specified for ignition components so the HV dump it does not arc to ground where we dont want it, we we want the HV to dump to ground in the spark plug electrode.

We also apply it to electric low voltage connections so we dont get arching from moisture - it also is non miscible to water making it all the better.
