And the reason for i suggested Slightly used Local car is, I'm using a Gli '04(Dec.), and it's been 4+ years, the car has done 127,000 KMs (almost 100K on CNG), have took it several times on my Lands, twice accidented, but still the car never lets me down, And we also bought it slightly used, just 2200 on odo, and unregd.

yup, i have no idea as to the market rate of the local hondas. also i know that any used car (bought 3-4 or more years ago) is very good value for money when compared to the same cars today which have lowered their build quality and materials.

i'm VERY much in favour of used local cars, just hate the fact that they are asking so much for the new stuff.

Storm, It's already there in 14-16 Lacks list, but you may also get one(base model) for 13, and yes, you're right regarding the price, 4 years ago it was something around 969,000, and the registration cost was 13,000 or something.

Couldn't resist after seeing the topic. A very nice topic indeed. Storm Bhai add Optra to the list. Very nice and comfortable vehicle and one can easily find a good 2005 optra for 7-8 lacs. Similarly sunny 2005 is availabale in the same range and it gives you ABS, airbags and much more.

Why not Geely and Proton?. They fit in the 8-11lac range and have proven powertrains and offer a credible alternative to the Japanese cars. I'm sure they can be repaired by independent mechanics.

^there are more g-wagens in PK than Geelys and protons and you barely ever see a g-wagen these cars are too rare to be added to such a list.

Dunno about islamabad but in karachi gelly's and protons are pretty comon i seee like 3-4 geely's a day.Wierd color's though.
Same goes for proton's but i actually like tham love the gen2.

^no doubt the Gen2 was a great car, loved the ergonomics, and the blaupunkt stereo (Y)

the dealer was right next to my place and even sent all their cars to a PW meet (covered market meet), but when i went to go put a down payment for the car i found out that they had closed the dealership in ISB and were pretty much wrapping up accross pakistan. too bad or i woudl have had a Gen2 in my drive at the moment.
