I have experienced a dead battery in corolla after trip to hometown as we used train for commute so my both cars corolla and old efi cultus were parked for 9 days with no start ing to both cars. When I reach back to my home I decided to give corolla a ride so I tried to start it and she was making clicking noise a good sign of bad battery Daewoo maintenance free battery was installed there is an indicator showing that shows status of battery and it was white/clear because good battery shows green indicator. So I thought it’s been 9 days car wasn’t in run that’s why battery died so that thought me to check cultus when I started it and it miraculously started running with little slow cranks I immediately poop the hood and look for indicator and to my surprise it was green.
So for corolla I went to nearby battery wala ask him to charge the battery he said come after 15 mint and Went there to pick the battery and indicator was green so came home installed battery and it started to run without any problem.
So one thing click in mind why cultus battery didn’t as both battery were of same rech and company and weren’t that old.
So I decided to check the running battery volts in corolla as kt was already running I hooked multimeter to battery and to my surprise it was showing 13.84 with no load on it so immediately Google and YouTube about volts while car is running got to know that for a healthy alternator running volts should be 14.2+ with any load and should be 13.9 to14+ volts while on full load eg AC lights radio etc. So I tested my car’s volt with full load and it was showing 13.6 on full load.
Now this thing has got me think that alternator is not charging properly and struggling to charging battery.
So after couple of days I again checked my car’s battery indicator it was showing white that means requires charging according to given chart.
Then I thought battery is bad that making voltage at low level so decided to get new battery without any delays so put a new battery came home in excitement and decided to check again and to my surprise every thing was same just volts of load came up to 13.7x.
So searched on YouTube and almost all YouTuber were showing almost same battery volts of battery while car in running I have also tested my cultus same was and it was showing 14.3x volts without any load.
So by searching I came to know that there must be something wrong with alternator charging system and got to know that alternator voltage regulator may have gone faulty.
So I went a alternator guy ask him to check whether my alternator is good or not well to my surprise he said he is not seeing anything wrong with alternator as he check it with battery load tester.
So can anyone one help tell me Is there anything wrong with my alternator and can a voltage regulator can be replaced. Will this help to sort my Issue.
I have also checked direct volts from alternator and the were same as on terminals I thought wires were aged.
