Altis 1.6 or something else?

My question here is simple. I'm looking for a sedan for my family. Now I have considered Honda city for a while and though its cheaper and good on fuel. I wanted something bigger and tougher. Nothing better for the roads of Pakistan than a corolla.
Now drop city out or dont focus completely on that maybe.

I looked at GLi manual at first and it totals to about 1.9 million including registration etc(Non-filer) and then I came across altis 1.6 that totals to around 2.2 million

What would you folks recommend?

Now what I already know is as follows:
GLi has that old engine from the previous generation as Pakistan is the only country still producing 1.3 corollas. thats a downside
the power-weight ratio as told by some people makes fuel consumption and immediate pickup a little bit of a down side.
but its 3 lacs cheaper.

Altis 1.6 on the other hand:
Automatic transmission, slightly better or similar consumption as manual GLi(so I'm told)
better pick up due to bigger engine and better horsepower.
alloy rims
LCD

WHAT do you guys think?
is altis 1.6 worth the additional 3 lacs? is there actually that big a difference? I plan on keeping the car for some 10 years. which one would be a better choice?

Altis 1.6 , Better value for money . If you can extend your budget , go for the top of the line i.e Grande , as you're gonna keep it for 10 years. It will be the best buy .

Sir autophile shares his experience of altis 1.6 in detail in his thread and he is right 1.6 is fun to drive good pickup better fuel average and resale than gli auto so if you have budget for grande or otherwise 1.6 would be a good choice

That depends if you like wrestling with clutch and gear in our crazy traffic congestion which is stop-go-stop-go-stop-go, thus clutch, gear, clutch, gear, clutch, gear x 10000 times.

Only very few people are buying manual nowadays. There is no manual variant of 10th Gen Civic being launched even by Atlas Honda.

Look at indus motors vehicle availability page, altis 1.6 delivery month has moved to October and November now. I came to know some banks have booked different cars, Which they offer to their leasing customers, is it true? I am planning to buy 1.6 but delivery time is too long now.

There is no such thing that banks pre book the cars. If they get the cars it is in Bank's name so you will be the second owner, not first. In leasing, financing only HPA and Bank name is mentioned on the registration book with a non-transferable stamp. The car is always in the name of customer.

My friend financing city from Meezan bank and their rep told they have city available which he can take from them within two days instead of book it from 3s, same they told him about corolla.

So at the end it can be true, but after financing finished, car will be transferred and we will be second owner on registration book. Am I right?

on lease the customer always appears as part owner.. its like Ali Ahmad c/o Meezan Bank. You are the owner but you cannot sell without the bank's NOC. You remain the first owner no matter what.

cash, because banks and all gets way too expensive.

not sure about the color yet.. confused between Super White and Medium Silver.
I love silver but I normally have silver cars, white might be different but doesnt give that grand look. and on a serious note I dont know the difference in the normal white offered by corolla and super white. never saw both together

There is no more medium silver offered in current corolla but IMC changed it to ID4 silver a good one light shade silver. I initially booked that color in 1.6 and on this Saturday changed it to super white. It has been liked more in altis as compared to silver. If you are going for altis1.6 than super white as it is not offered in gli whereas silver is. I tried to upload the pics for both colors but PW app crashes every time I tried to upload the photos.
