Altis 1.6 – Slight Lag with AC On – Need Expert Advice

Hi everyone,

I purchased a Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 from Lahore in November 2024. At that time, it had 35,000 km on the odometer and looked brand new. The seats, interior, and overall condition were extremely fresh, almost like a new car.

However, I’ve noticed a slight lag when driving with the AC on. It’s not a major issue, but I can feel a minor difference in performance. The tire pressure is set at 34 psi for all four tires. The engine oil hasn’t been changed since I bought the car, and it’s currently at 38,000 km. The previous owner used ZIC 5W-20, and the same oil is still in the engine. I did get a tuning done two months ago, but I drive the car very rarely. Also giving bad fuel average on meter it's showing between 12-13 maximum average 13 on highway, speed was 100 maximum, I also drive with low foot as well.

Could this be a normal perception, or is there an actual issue? Should I change the engine oil, or could something else be causing this?

I also drive altis x 2022 model but it's good. Is this difference between 2018 and 2022 model engine?

I have attached a picture of the engine oil for reference. Any expert advice would be greatly appreciated!

Last time when I got the tuning done, he scanned it on the computer, but everything was okay. he said all ok

Brother I am not from Lahore, I am from very small city also Lahore is approx 550km one side from here I cannot travel for this issue. I remember it was like 37000 when I got tuning done last time.

12 to 13 is fine for local city use like in islamabad and lahore, in small cities it will be around 10.
Secondly, reset the meter, its usually giving the average reading from the last time it was reset

It's not in city, it's was on long route brother. Is altis 1.6 give 12-13 is maximum on long route even include motorway of 30-40km as well with speed of maximum 100 with light foot?

I cover distance of 200km long route with 17 liters fuel consumption, it's approx 12km maximum average ,

Did you calculate this from tank to tank? If not, these rough estimates mean nothing

It's probably not 35k driven just change the engine oil, oil filter Air filter & spark plugs

Thats incorrect. Fill her up, drive 100 kms, and refill. That way you will get accurate figures, also, reset the meter

Which oil you recommend brother? I think phly is me Zic x7 5w20 ha, is this good? Or I need to change?

Its good, you need to learn to calculate better
