A few weeks back, all of a sudden my Altis1.8 2011 shift got stuck in P. I used Shift Lock button at that time. It worked fine for about two days. Then again, shift got stuck in P, I again had to use Shift Lock, then it worked intermittently for about 4/5 days and after that shift lock has stopped working on break press and I have to use Shift Lock button every time. Back lights are working fine. Asked an electrician, he checked lights first, tried to open assembly which he couldn't, he checked a connector on the side of assembly and said that solenoid is not getting current from break press (I really doubted he was getting on anything) he then put all things back and excused. Now I asked a mechanic, I didn't let him open it, however, he said it's lock has broken down that assembly would be changed for about 60K or I can get one from Bilal Ganj for about 7K. If something had broken down, it couldn't have worked for a few days, it worked intermittently. As far as I understand, this seems to be electrical problem. Solenoid might have gone bad or this may simply be wiring. Can somebody guide regarding this. Please refer some DIY guide or tell about a good electrician/mechanic. I am in Lahore. If somebody faced this issue, what could be cost of the fix. Thanks a lot
