btw i think u did not get my point, i am not comparing new altis with civic in terms of performance cz there is no comparison btw them civic is far far better man . i said i only liked the exterior od the new altis only and not of those crapy xli and gli.

well that painduu point is very true man. u know what 1 of my not so close uncle bought this new xi and u now whenever he comes to our place he is wearing a kalaf ka kurta and u wud have two stupid looking mobiles in his hands and then will put his xli's keys on the table as if its a BMW 7 series's key

To install tyres rated at 190 km/hr on a car capable of reaching 200 km/hr is crimminal and in case of all the scenerios mentioned above both the Toyota and the tyre manufacturer is 100% liable for not only to compensate for the loss but also for threatening the lives of people by installing improper/defective tyres.

IT is also the responsibility of the manufacturer to install tyres with no possibility of failure

I STRONGLY reccomend that owner of the car to speak to the manufacturer (indus motors) as well as to toyota japan and ask for a settlemen. IF they dont settle than the owner should threaten them with taking them to court and to also threaten them with publicity in the media and shold infact take them to court.

why take it to 200km/hr or 190km/hr when the legal speed limit ranges from 120-140km/hr

no 1 can expect such comment from 38 year old person

this car is provided i pakistan where speed limit is 120km/h only on highway...other then that just 70km/h...

so why should some 1 go above that...plus its not a sports car that should look for endurance of tyres at 200km/h

it does not mean if yr car has been given a speedometer of 200km/h then it must touch it as well

not like in our country....models r launched with different engine and why they are converted to sports they first make sure brakes and suspension and safty is enough to boost up the power of car then they may can touch 200 on track

horrible accident yaar..!! Allah kher karay.......... i agree with 309 that its exterior is awesome.....i havent got a chance to drive it yet.......i have the old se saloon auto 2005 & a 1.8 civic pros.....drive mein itna difference bhee nai like some people say..!! although i would say in terms of brakes, acceleration & well, almost everythng, civic is better i took my civic on 160km/h on motorway a month ago, but then i started feeling guilty & brought it back to 118-120km/h even though i have dunlop tyres

1. I am not suggesting or reccomending that a vehicle be taken to 200km/hr.

2. The tyre burst in this case should not have happened in ANY CASE.

3. The tyres are installed by the manufacturer keeping in view the capabilities of the car. For example my City comes with tyres that are rated T "maximum 190km/hr". My vehicle, a 2007 Honda City is not capable of reaching such a speed but allows for a bit of margin just in case i try to reach such speeds.

4. If a tyre explodes in ANY car due to over speeding and the car, tyres, wheels have not been modifed than it is the sole responsibility of the manufacturer of the car and the tyres and more so if the car is brand new as is the case here.

5. Having a bit of legal knowlege both in pakistan and abroad. I can clearly tell u that the owner of the car is not at fault ( although he should not speed).
   The blame rests squarely with manufacturer of the tyres and also the manufacturer of the car who decided put defective/low quality tyres/low specification tyres on the car in the first place.

6. The tyres on corolla (H speed rated) are capable of 210 km/hr. which means that nothing should happen to them AT ALL at those speeds and even at 230 km/hr.

7 I strongly reccomend the owner of this car to approach indus motors as well as toyota japan for settlement through arbitration or through court

secondly the tyre burst isnt because of high speeds. cud be due to several reasons. probably cause of driving on a puntured or an under inflated tire.

thirdly Honda City and Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic come wid same factory fitted tires. (euro glide (general) 15" wid proifle diferences. and same speed limits.

nd if ure saying that only General Euro GLide tyres get brusted so im sory the reality is different every tyre can brust.

i bursted front tire in my 96 GT corolla which some ppl hate to admit was a GT at 220km/hr and not a scratch on car.
