Altis Grande 2014/15 higher rpm after throttle body cleaning

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday i was getting my car's oil change and they asked if i want plugs and throttle body to be checked , i agreed and the guy there opened throttle body and cleaned it with petrol, a lot of black residue was cleaned, then he cleaned the plugs which were a little rusty but in good condition.
After that my car has fluctuating rpm , idles between 1.4k-2.2k and economy has dropped to 8-9km/l
As per the caltex guys, it will settle down in a day's time, I have driven approximately 40km since then and there is a tiny bit of improvement.
Mileage of the car is around 57k and 5w-40 is the oil.
I wanted to know if this is usual and will settle down itself or do i have to take it to dealership.

Your mistake was getting it cleaned in the first place.

Check for Vaccum leaks. Make sure all pipes are connected

drive for about 100km more and see if its getting improved ?

You need to take it to someone who has scanner which has Toyota Idle Relearn. It will settle after it if the tb butterfly is not harmed.

Thanks for the ultimate solution, prior to reading this comment i had called the guy who did cleaning, he came to my office with another guy having scanner, did an idle relearn from obd and done, he charged 500 rupees though but considering his effort coming from e-11 to the other end of islamabad, it is a nominal fee.

Problem solved through OBD relearn, Mods can close the thread if they want.

I have faced this problem already,they washed throttle body,after that rpm jumped to 1.3k,and they said it will relearn is iddling in short time,but i driven it approx 30km,with 1.3k rpm,there was no stability in rpm was observed by me.
In my case the culprit was throttle body's butterfly.
Jisko hum local language me sika kehte hn.
Butterfly's calibration was disturbed,means,sika poori trha band nhi ho rha tha, mechanic showed me this out calibration of butterfly facing throttle body to sun light,it can be clearly seen in sunlight.
There is no solution for setting calibration of butterfly back.
Then i have purchased and fixed new throttle body​
Mechanic said,saaf karte waqt sike ko ziada zor lag gya tha is liye apni jaga se hil gya h sika​

This is normal behaviour. As soon as you take off pipe from throttle body rpm will go high. You just need to scan it and reset idle learn control. It will come back to normal within a second. Always get throttle service from the person who have scanner. Those who are saying that you shouldn't get throttle service are spreading false information.

Well... When the guy was doing throttle body service and cleaning of spark plugs, if he could just have disconnected one of the battery terminals for that time period, then reconnected and performed idle learn procedure, there wouldn't had been any such issue and need of scanning device to fix rpms issue.

This doesn't work. Tried it. Scanner is must for it.

any ECU would require time to learn on its own, disconnecting terminal simply restarts that process so like after driving 3-400 kms or so it will stabilize

Why should someone suffer from high rpm at idle for so many kms which will drink petrol like heck? Don't you think that gonna make ride uncomfortable?
One can reset idle learning value in just 200-300rs.

It is very important, If anyone has recently removed and got cleaned the throttle body or the fuel injectors of Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6. Than there is 100 % chance of rpm increase b/w 1200 to 1600 or may be more than that. Be very careful to do only one thing remove the car key from ignition switch, open the bayonnet there are two connectors of computers just remove the small one carefully after removing the clip and leave it for just 90 seconds.
After 90 sconds connect the connector. Now start the engine and check the RPM.

This high rpm issue after tb clean is common in vehicles,just drive the car for 15 to 20 km,the ecu will re-learn and set the rpm at back to its normal position at iddle.or one may re-learn the rpm by doing re-learn procedure by himself without driving the car.method of relearn is on YouTube.
