ALTO 660 CC decreasing 1 liter oil in 2000 km

My ALTO 660 CC is now driven to 150,000 km. From last many months I am facing the problem of oil level decrease, and last time oild level decreased about 1 liter in just 1000 km long drive.. I am using ZIC 20w/50 oil, and have changed same number of shell, total, and Mobil, but still the problem persists. What should I do?

Does the oil levels decrease in same rate if u r driving short in city?

Get the compression test done of your car from a reputable workshop and share the results here, so that members can guide u better.

Also mention ur area\city.

you should be using 5 w 30 or 5w20 oil.

After its meter reading above 120,000 worksop recommended 20w/50

If I am driving in short distance then it does not decrease as rapidly as it do on long drive

Check your blowby valve.. if clogged engine oil will be consumed. Just change it.

Change that workshop. One of the many utter stupid recommendations you can get from pakistani mechanics is to pour 20w50 in old engine which would otherwise be working fine on the owner manuals recommended engine oil. 20w50 can literally destroy the engine during morning startups be in winters or summers due to oil starvation. No wonder your cars engine is reducing the oil. Blame the workshop which gave you this stupid idea.

Anyway the reason could be choked PCV valve. Change it and see if it solves the issue. If it does then change the engine oild to 5w30 straight away. If it doesnt solve the issue then do a compression test and check if its in the normal range. If not then you will need an engine rebuild because 20w50 has done its job of killing the engine
