The law says auto-manufacturer has to deliver the car within sixty days from the date of booking. Is this condition being followed now-a-days? No, and the government has done nothing to ensure the applicability of this law in letter and spirit.
When the buyer signs the PBO, he agrees to get delivery within let's say four months. Now, nowhere does the law say that auto-manufacturer has to pay compensation, if it doesn't deliver the car within four months, because the conditions: Giving delivery within sixty days and paying compensation after the sixtieth day, both go hand and hand, and both of which have been violated altogether.
You may nevertheless try your luck in the court of law and see if the odds turn out in your favour.
