Alto VXR Alloy Rims + Tires Issue

Hey Guys,

I own an Alto VXR (2006 Model). I need some help with the set of tires and alloy rims I have on my car.

Right now, I have a set of 13" alloy rims along with Dunlop 165 tires. I'm having some pretty serious problems, the tires are touching my bumpers from the front and back on random bumps on roads...I can't drive over 70 with the car bubbling (I did get them balanced and aligned).

To avoid them touching the back of the car, I've added some packing/spacers. This just ruined my suspension.

Now to avoid all this, I want to get NEW RIMS and TIRES. I need advice here.

What is best for ALTO VXR? Shall I go with 12" alloy rims and 155 tires? Or shall I go with 13" and 155 tires?

whats the height of your tires, 165/? R13, is it 70, 65, or 60 .

165 number on your tires is the width, and the other number is the height.

R13 means 13inch radius of the Rim.

@Adnan959,, bro that the most common mistake ppl commit on such small car,,
your first mistake was to add a 13' inches rim on Alto,, the cars suspension is not equipped to deal with such heavy add on,,,, My Suggestion to you will be to urgently change car rims to size 12 next add tyres with specs 165/70 R 12,, because chimta's and kamani's of your car are getting excess pressure on them which has also made car's steering hard. and remove additional packing.

yaar dont change your tires just bought Vitz springs and put them on your alto it will solve your problem. your cars tires is not touching your cars bumper actually tires touching your cars body from upside you can check the tires side wall!

yaar Alto is not designed to use with 13 inches wheels i would recommend put the orignal rims not the alloy ones and get back to 12 inches tyres ... try to put Dunlop SP Sports.

got for 165 65 or 60 R 12... dont take 165 70 R12 it might again touch the body of your care and will increase your fuel consumption and make your steering bit harder, so dont waste you money buying bigger tyres and paying more for fuel every kilometer... every car is designed with a specific number for the wheel its written on your driving door area... it gives your enuff road grip, most economical fuel consumption smoother ride for the driver and the ride...

I'm now very much thinking of getting R12, 165, 65 tyres.

One question, if I get 155 tyres wouldn't that be better?

@suzukialtomehran: Thats a good demonstration bro, this is EXACTLY the problem I'm having right now, and the tyres need to be a little lesser in width. This will solve all my problems. And yes right now the car is very very heavy and I'm concerned about this to..

So finally, I think I will get R12 165 65. What do you guys think? Shall I get 165 or 155?? I will be changing both my rims and tyres for this to solve the problems.

Also, right now my car doesn't go more than 95KMs... do you think this is causing this?? I've done alignment and balancing everything. CNG is also well tuned and changed engine oil today. All in all its very well maintained but why isn't it going more than 95kms?

Bro!, if you haven't bought new rims and tyres till yet,
just go for 12 inch alloy rims and 165/55 Maxxis Ma-202
just got my alto's tyres replaced with 12'' alloys and maxxis tyres
my ride's drive is smooth as silk

70, 65 or 60 is actually not the height ... its called aspect ratio. Its the ratio of height to width. But indirectly it tells u about height
