Alto VXR: Japanese or Pakistani?

Salam to all.

I need ur opinions regarding purchasing an Alto VXR. Although i am not a big fan of suzuki, but i need ur help for my friend. Kindly give ur opinions about going for the pakistani or japanese version. Plz state ur reasons as well. Looking forward to ur responses.

bro... pak version of alto its like buyin a mehran..... n jap version alto.. its got it own standard.. so i guess u shud got jap version...

Paki Alto maintenance is very cheap.

But the japanese models also come in pakistani shape, so maintenance won't be a problem. Any one else??????

I own a new Pakistani Alto, I love it, cheap to maintain and economical on CNG.

I love the Japense Alto for having Power Steering (got that in my Alto), Power windows, ABS, Rear Defoger, Different Speedo, Automatic option, Air bags, EFI Engine and other goodies....

So you see there are very clear difference in Pakistani alto and Japanese alto.

But two MAJOR draw back of Japanese Alto are that it is 660cc which is VERY underpowered for Pakistani roads & people and CNG will almost kill the car speed and pick so no cng for Japanese Alto.

I say if your friend can live with an underpowered 660cc car on Petrol than all is well, other wise get a Pakistani Alto that will be 997cc get Power steering, Power Windows and rear defogger installed on it and that is as good as it can get no EFI, Automatic option, ABS, Air bags can not be installed on Pakistani Alto.

Pakistani Alto has Suzuki Potohar's engine which is 970 cc.

Go for pakistani alto cuz its easy to maintain and excellent millage on cng.
Also upgraded according to road condition of Pakistan

Japanese Alto is much better than the local one in terms of ride and quality. The 660CC engine is EFi and does not give the feel of being underpowered. It goes up to 125KPH and maintains 120KPH on motorway easily.
I have had Japanese Alto 2004 and am having a 660CC Suzuki Kei, these cars have a gr8 ride on Petrol as I never tried CNG.
If u can get hold of a 2004 Japanese Alto in good condition, go for it as the 2004 jap alto has the same shape as of pakistani one.

jap alto has much better body quality and fitting.
and a whole bunch of goodies..

engine is a minus, but its great on petrol

get a jap alto with a busted engine,, and put local alto engine in it.

maintainance cheap?
1 light cost 5000rs!

Last time I heard head light comes in "Repairs" not maintainance

maintainance is: Oil/Air Filter, Eng Oil, Brake Oil, Gear Oil, Engine Coolant, Brakes Frequent Checkups after every 5,000KM

Alto VXR has quite expensive parts plus you can just never get rid of the noises from here and there. Jap Alto on the other hand has just everything you need, even more spacious than the VXR (Pakistan assembled version) but the engine is just too small (good for the ladies)
You should get a VXR if you own a petrol station because this car will rob your pocket when it comes to mielage on Petrol (11km/l local and 14km/l on long) but quite good on CNG which is not available these days.
I own a VXR and it is far better then most of the cars except that I can't use it on Petrol, so if you need a day to day use car and don't want to spend all your salary on fuel go for Jap Alto.
