Alto VXR vs. Alto VXR AGS

Hi, I have the option of buying Alto VXR or VXR AGS.
However, I have heard that AGS is not very reliable and can create issues in long term keeping in mind that I plan to keep this new car at least for next 8 years or so.

On the other hand, I am concerned about growing traffic on Karachi roads and think that getting AGS would be a better option.

Please let me know if VXR AGS works fine in long term.

as you already aware, AGS is basically a manual transmission with electric clutch and shift mechanism, which some times become confused and result in extra wear and tear of clutch. OEM replacements is not that cheap.
However if you learn the way txn controller thinks and overrise it whenever needed you can avoid this wear and tear and let it run for extended period.

u can control the AGS manually and when needed let is be in auto mode, but not the otherway around with VXR manual.

Alto Ags 50k kms driven in the last two years and not a single issue. That’s all I can tell. But yes it is prone to wear and tear if the driver doesn’t understand and synchronise his feet with its working. There’s a gap between the gear shifting. Between that gap the driver has to slightly lift his feet from the accelerator in order to give space to the car to shift its gear. You do that and you won’t get any issues. That’s all I was told by the dealership.
