not really sure dude.. but I dont think so.. their official site tells a different story. How do you think they would differentiate between the two lines then..? HSVs/CSVs are more focused cars in terms of performance and therefore come with a price premium..

Fact 1: a pontiac GT (commodore with an LS2), which is not even the ultimate grade GXP (commodore with an LS3), kills an E63 AMG just like that:

partly you could say, and there are good reasons for that... but mainly because of the fact that I want to let the people out there know that there exist cars other than german/european (or even japanese), that are inexpensive, attractive and perform on par (if not better) with their german rivals... there are more than enough reasons to choose an HSV over any other european car that competes in the same segment..

Yes these cars exist, but only in the Australian market. I know one form or another is exported to various markets, but the raw-meat example is only in Australia. So, technically the HSV can't compete with european examples because a) the europeans have managed to buy their way into every damn market, and b) the australians haven't.

You shoulda said, Austrlia can't!!! Primarily because,

A) HSV is CSV in the Middle-east.
B) HSV is Pontiac G8 in US.
C) HSV is Vauxhall VXR8. With the Bathurst 8 lapping .1 secs slower then the M5. Jeremy liked the car by the way.

D) Its Holden Commodore, Chevy Lumina, Chevy Omega and Pontiac G8. & its also like The 5 series to the M5!
E) I just don't see the European version to it, but accept the fact that Amreeki's are not very much popular in the Europe all around.

Why do I like it? Its a absolutely a Pony car complying perfectly with the original Pony definition of the 60s. Though the confused new age engineers messed it up a bit in hunger for introducing technology which was absolutely not, cost friendly for GM.

I'm still sort of ambiguous on GM's operations in relations to Holden/Vauxhall. Did they oversee day to day operations, or were they just like VW- taking a cut of the bottom line? Because if they were the latter, then it must have been very cost efficient for GM (pontiac) to sell the G8 here without any costs- they'd just rebadged them as Pontiacs fresh off the boat, and see them to the dealerships. It's another story that they never sold here, but still...

If I could, I'd get me a G8 GXP. I'll probably end up getting a CTS-V sometime though because its the closest thing left to a "Oh crap I just crapped myself" machine.

The CTS-v is the new benchmark man. If BMW F10 M5 doesnt supersede it then it remains as is. But I despair, no RHD?! even for the big Australian market?!
