Amp meter not working with AC

Hi,

I purchased a Digital Amp meter to connect to our Inverter AC but on switching on the AC the display goes blank. I believe that you have to connect a shunt/coil to the amp meter to display the amps otherwise it won't work.

Where do I get this? Or can can anyone explain pls.

I have never used these...but imo these should work without any shunt...Ask the place where you bought it

I think you need to connect upper two connections in series with the air conditioner power.
The bottom ones to be connected to 220v.

What about coil / shunt. Shop guy says you need to fix a coil?

We tried connecting but the panel went off when AC was switched on.

Try It On Some Lighter Load...Don't Need Any Shunt...Simply Connect It In Series With Appliance ....Its AC Type As mentioned On Meter With Sign

Actually he did that but no success. The panel would light up but go off once the AC switch was put on. So we called up the shop guy now and he said you need to connect a CT coil

The yellow wires are connected to small pols..one yellow wire is connected to small pol and big pol is getting current from big pol.
2nd yellow wire is natural and connected to natural line.
The blue wire is hot wire.one end is connected to one big pol and other end which is going to air conditioner is connected to 2nd big pol.
The wire going through a smal connecter is natural wire.

Thanks bro. My electrician just figured it out. It's working now.

Just one qs. My Gree inverter AC 16000 btu starts at 1 amp then gradually goes up to max 23 amps and then comes down to max 5 amps after about 15 mins and fluctuates at 4/5 Amps and remains at that. Ran the AC for one hour to chk the Amp meter. Why does it go to 23 amps???

Whereas Gree ppl say 16000 btu starts at 1 amp goes up to 7/8 amps and then comes down to 2.5/3 amps when set temp is reached.

R u sure it goes to 23 amp??its too much.
My ac starts from 1 amp and max go to 8 and within 5 min it comes to below 4 and when temp reached(usually within 20 mints) it works between 1.8 to 2.5.
My room size is 13*15,single story but insulated with 2 inch jumbolan.

All within an hour of using the AC. Room size 10 x 12. Connecting window to other room which is also 10 x 12 was closed.

What temp setting do you use? I live on the 7th floor apartment.

I use it at 26c and fan speed mode on lowest.
What is approx distance between inner unit and outer?
What was out side temp at 7pm?
Do u live in karachi?
As u said the room is sealed then ac's amp should come near 2 amps when set temp achieved.use celling fan on medium speed to spread air quickly.
