An Old ride restoration: Corolla 74

I am an autophile and since almost a decade , I had a desire to restore and own a classic old ride. I was fascinated by different restoration projects done by PW members. I had been looking for certain probable rides to restore. It was easy to think but practically very different to actually go for project due to factors like time constraints, which ride to choose, and obviously living in a city with limited options for spares and craftsmanship for old cars. To cut all this short, luckily I found a E-30, corolla 1974 . It was parked and not in running condition for almost an year.It was my cousin's car. I asked for it and it was happily handed over to me( with out any money :))
To tell about car, it was in white colour, with rusty body and sound chassis. Engine and transmission are 8/10. I want suggestions for its restoration. I want to keep it original and simple. Currently its there for body work. My son wants it to be colored in red or royal blue so I have plan to change its color to some bright attractive color. I hope to receive some valuable suggestions from PW members. Few images are attached of car when received and in body shop.

More pictures after body work and paint job will be uploaded.

Alhamdu Lillah the project of restoration completed after four months.I will like to thank all PW members and Mr Daud who provided all facilitation to search for parts in Rawalpindi and scarp yards.
Although the body denting and paint work could not be done as per my expectations, but overall I am satisfied.
Total expenses : almost 95K.

Royal blue is a very attractive colour and will look good on it too. Its in good condition as per the year. Wishing u all the best for the project.

I've seen Sir @spectra's old Corolla pics. Its restored in the original golden/yellow mix shade and i must say it looks very graceful. The period correct colours look great on these cars

Yes Iam from Abbottabad, the body repairs and denting is being done from Kokar mera Near Havelian.

Dear you mean about engine swap? Initially I thought about it. But as I said in begining , I want to keep it in original and simple condition, particularly the metallic old bumpers and old classic motor . I need some ideas for interior , especially if anyone help me find/refer the original box A/C( around Pindi/Isb)

Yes sir engine swap.
To be honest restoring to original specs is more difficult then swapping.

I hope he doesn't start liking it after restoration. You could be in trouble then

Good luck with the restoration though. It's an interesting project.
