Android units ver expire? I have heard from my friend that whenver new android version is released the android panels of cars get obsolete and they have to be replaced with new updated unit . He says that the Android version doesn't get updated thats why .
I think its not a major concern, unless / until someone has urge to always upgrade / update. Even if some units are stuck on Android 7, its fine IMO, as long as they are compatible with car's electricals and performing their intended function.
That's the question will the apps like google map keep working?
Obviously... there’s no reason for them to not work. It’s like when people want to upgrade to Huawei P30lite but they currently have P10lite. So it’s a matter of choice.
Google progressively discontinues support for older android version. For example last year it stopped support for android 4 and older android units can't navigate with google maps. Next in line is android 5 and so on.
