dear change every thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,pads, cylinders , hub , excels, shocks , control arms , helping rod , steering rack,,,,,,,,,,,,,and even engine and all the nut bolts of frount suspension including each and every thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but problem will still be there ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,unless you change the differential pins

There is some play is pads/calliper

If differential is at fault. Noise should increase with hard braking.

Also it should make noise with engine braking, downshifts if diff is the problem.

Can't be differential pins. The noise is clearly brake related as mine disappeared for a couple of days after replacing break pads and surfacing of discs.

I don't see anything loose in my assembly, to me it sounds more like the pads or caliper hitting the edge of the disc. I see some uneven wear on the edges, may be my disc has gotten v thin.

nope when braking hard no sound is produced

check for suspension, lift the car on jack and wheels suspended hold the wheel gently and try to move shudder the assembly right & left as in forward & reverse motion most likely the TOP end (shock mount with bearing) is cracked

this is top insulator for front shock-absorber in some cars it is also in the rear suspension - red pointer is rubber with bearing and it cracks and produce TUK TUK sound picture is only for cross reference illustration your car may have different shape & size of such insulator

My sound disappeared after cleaning and re greasing the insides of calipers. There is however a slight warp in my discs. I will need to replace them eventually. so far its been a week and so sound...

I drive a 2002 city.

yeah that sound only comes when you apply brakes , in frount wheel drive cars differential is located inside of transmission , you have to remove and open the transmission , then pull the differential out from transmission , and then change it side gear pin , check the pic i attached , this differential is of cultus , i guess you are talking about mehran ? let me search that old differential pin and then i will show you how it worn out ,

this is called differential case,and the ring gear over it is a source of all the load transfer from gear to wheels thus the TUK TUK sound on braking does not implies on differential,the sound which a loose differential pin or its star like gears (inside differential case) rises is some what like echo (goonj) on higer speed and engine braking and is always continuous in nature.

the sound only comes on braking (when pedal is pressed lightly) but the pedal is stomped no sound is produced

The brake pad pins might be loose, when they're loose the pads moving back and fourth when you come to a stop. Try tightening the pins, it might solve your problem.
