So i told you guys about my problem with my right wheel which was making tuk tuk noise while braking. I got the insides greased and the noise went away but appeared on the right side. I was told that the discs need replacement as they have lost their specified thickness.

I changed the discs with kabli ones, they looked nice and thick ( much thicker then the old ones.) Anyways so my right side is completely quite but the left wheel is still making the same noise. I mean its exactly the same. :\ now i m really pissed.

how much did the discs cost ?
and from where did you buy it
did you change the pads and their clips ?

HAvnt changed the brake pads yet. The discs were a little rusty so i wanted to run them on old pads for a while until they clean up. Didnt want to rotate them.

Yesterday i went to my mechanic for the brake issue he told me instead of changing discs better buy the complete brake system (discs,calliper,pins/clips,rotor and OEM pads)
so next time going to Shershah for replacing brakes

what grease is being used? and are all the anti rattle and anti squeal shims installed?

My mechanic told me the same thing your car is missing the clips and etc and these parts will be difficult to source at plaza
So better to get a replacement from Shershah
and car is missing the anti rattle shims on both sides and discs are weak

get a good and complete set and use proper brake application grease, search for my thread where I replaced the brake pads in my Nissan Altima - the grease and spray I used was available in Pakistan when I lived there.

well today i got solution of this tuk tuk sound, dnt delay it i replaced my brake pipes which goes in calipers, replaced them from bilal gunj, also replaced that side caliper assembly now its silent but f*** padel got soft now wat? mechanic said drive it a bit then bleed it again n adjust it

yep cz new one was available which was local made n really cheap quality, pipes which i brought are ok , i think good option over local pipes.btw i found a v clean pair of hubs so tooked a caliper of right side n brake pipes from it

late reply but - you just shot yourself in the foot, and the bullet will bite you in the butt too, you are never supposed to install used brake pipes, get new ones - you can find them easily, if you cannot get a new set crimped from extreme pressure brake pipe, You could have gone to a toyota showroom parts department for them..

sometimes - PW really amazes me. This also reminded me of a used parts shop in Magazine like Karachi selling "used jenyan EFI fuel filter" for older toyotas - complete with imported junk and crap in them.

btw I have used made in Lalukhet Karachi brake pipes and they work, just make sure that the shop crimping them have a proper hydraulic swage tool.

How to check faulty brake pipes ? I mean are they bad even if no sign of damage can be seen or felt physically ?

the pipes fail internally and narrow their bore which results in loss of braking power, they sometimes also fail in a way that they act like one way valves causing very hot brakes.

It is recommended to replace these items every 100,000 kms as preventive maintenance on top of replacing brake fluid every year.

I am experiencing the same issue and it’s something to do with those brake caliper pins. Recently, they were repaired but after 5 days the sound is back. I think, it cannot be repaired and best solution is buy a new one if you can.

I even don’t know if we can buy something which can be replaced in that big brake assembly. Also, bushes in lower control arm can contribute to this problem, in-fact can make it look worst. I initially went for the repair of tak tak sound but mechanic made me replace the bushes as well. Worst thing which happened after 10 days were that new bushes were again broken and tak tak sound was back.

This time, I bought genius bushes and were replaced. tak tak sound got better but it is still there. Do let me know if ever you find a solution.

Thanks for this new information as I was not aware about this but I don’t think it contributes to any sound but can result in sudden failure.

we have three cars with this sound now in our home
these days im seeing alot of cars with the same sound maybe its because of pathetic brake pad quality
