And I started descending towards the valley.

Spring season had just started and the mountains surrounding the valley were still wearing white dress....so magical.

Soon mountains will be naked, then valley floor will be green from the melted snow as cultivation had begun. River was snaking through the valley bed.......

This Phander valley perfectly defines what "waadi" should look like. A flat surface surrounded by mountains, should fit your area of viewing i.e neither too big nor small. Just of the size that your two eyes should see right away without turning the head right or left....

Valley was simply fascinating but I was looking for phander lake and PTDC, and in this search I drove from one end to another. Asked someone and he said I have to go back to the mountain from where I had descended.

On the top someone rightly or wrongly pointed to a narrow track sharply turning down. Doubting if i will be able to climb back.....I turned the wheels considering this is leading to PTDC and should not be a problem for the car.

I went to the extreme end but there was no lake or PTDC but the place was amazing on the banks of river. Villagers confirmed that i can comfortably pitch my tent without worry. So I decided to camp there and Phander lake tomorrow.

So where was PTDC? Where u turned in wrong direction? Want to see how good/bad ptdc there.

Feeling hungry......I have the packed food but not the roti. Requested a boy if he can get a roti from his mom. He happily agreed. He came back with these two mega rotis....he and I finished one roti with lahori choley

Climate was hot since I had left Lahore, was hot in Kohistan, in Gilgit and was even hot in Ghizer district under the sun. But it was pleasantly cool since I had descended in the Phander valley.

Kids and boys started gathering around......exchange of information continued for an hour....then I wished for another hour that they should leave so that I may have my time with the beautiful surroundings.....but they remained there.....some were close, some were at a distance, some were peeping inside my car.

When I had urge for shoo shoo, I decided that I have to leave for PTDC. My plan for camping disappeared as they were not in a mood to leave until before night.

Turned back and drove on this kuchha track. When that ascend was about to start.....I stopped for a while, thought what will happen if somebody is driving down from the other end. There was no option, reengaged first gear, pressed the paddle hard and rpm started touching 4000...and at last I was back on Chitral road.
