yea, the internal volume of a box is determined after port displacment and woofer displacment. small magnet *less mounting depth means more box space.

enerlevel i have a typ r model 1242d.im thinking of buying f11d.will it provide good pwr to the sub as i want damn good lows.and yeah in ur previous thread ive apologized also for the deal regarding typ rs but even i didnt knew that the other person would backout so i apologize.thnx

yes it should provide u with some good sound as long as the box is made at 35hz.

running with 600rms amplifer
can u give me a brief about that system
which amplifer and its specification , does it changes the sound quality , and was the bass louder then running 307 @ 4 ohms , 400rms?

i dont remember saying d4 on 600rms. but i was running jbl d2 on 600rms. and ohms are just for wiring flexibility. it has nothing to do with sound quality.

Thanks for the reference. Ok i got the point but can u give me the clue how much i should keep in my pocket when going for alpine type R and any shop for that. And how much watts of amp should be minimum for this setup

the last time i brought the typse S , it was for 3500 i think.
Ok i don't know about the alpine speakers tell me which are better type R or type S. Secondly the price u have quoted for the type S is in used or new. Thanks....
Type R is alwaz better . but if u have a good amp to power it. if u have less power, then type S is going to shine. and yes they were brand new.

Question for enerlevel
as u know i have played with my system (experiment)
i want to know some thing
my previous sub was 307d4 which i sold
the problem which i was facing that it was producing much distortion
i have checked my both of the coils of d4
when i hooked up the wire to first voice coil , the bass was ok
then i hooked up the wire to the 2nd coil of woofer , if was giving me very less bass,
does the coil blownup slightly ???

when i presses the woofer cone , it was so easy to press , wasnt hard,it was very soft ,
when i compared to new d2 , the cone was really hard to press
does it mean my d4 spider was damaged?

usually after playing the spider bcomes soft. not to worry unless its torn or ripped off.
