ANy experience of Daihatsu Terios

I am thinking of buying a Dihatsu Terios 1300 cc VVT-i. It will cost me around Rs 800K (eqv in Chinese currency). In some countries it is sold as Toyota Camy. Today I checked it out at Toyota showroom. Seems to be a nice little car / SUV. I will go for 2WD version because of higher fuel prices here. I was wondering if any of you have any practical on hands experience of this car. Any comments / suggestions. Other options is Toyota Vios 1.5 in the same price range. Thanks.

This is a pretty rare vehicle in Pakistan as I have seen only 1 in Karachi. However, if u want an opinion I would suggest u look it up at this site www.whatcar.co.uk they'll give u a candid review of the vehicle. Sorry could'nt be of more help.

Well thanks for the info. I have read a lot of reviews from Canada, USA etc but I wanted to know something from Pakistani view point. We people have a different perspective to evaluate a car / SUV as compared to people in other countries. Somebody posted on this forum that Indus motors is marketing it for 1300K. I think it is too much for this car. It is not comparable to Altis which is selling under 1300K. In China it is far cheaper then Altis.

Well it'll definately be more expensive when its sold here cuz of taxes & duties. I consult www.whatcar.com because the evaluations done in that magazine are along our lines of thinking. The Brits r also interested in saving money & fuel is expensive there. All American car publications are always cribbing about how small & under-powered the Forenza's 2000cc engine is etc etc. Whatcar? always gives a more realistic review thats why i referred u to that site. Hope u get the car u want.
