Any Known Issues with Honda City 1.2L CVT?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying a Honda City 1.2L CVT and wanted to know if anyone here has experienced any common issues or reliability concerns with this particular model.

Any problems with the CVT transmission? Like the old Vario us to make clicking sounds after a while does this onw do any thing similar ?
Are there any recurring issues with the engine or electrical system?
How is the overall long-term reliability?
Would love to hear your experiences or feedback before making my decision!

Have had our 1.2Cvt for 3 years. Almost 35k used. Never had a CVT issue. Took it from Pindi to Lahore motorway and GT road many times. Also took it to monal multiple times, never had issues with engine or transmission.

All is well except for weatherstrips which have a gap from the window on all doors in every car produced by honda. As a result water goes down in the doors

I would argue that Swift GLX is a much better option if digi is not your requirement. However, i have never driven this city. When i was buying a car, i had this as an option however in all of the reviews, city 1.2L is found to be very sluggish and slow to respond. Since my requirement had nothing to do with having a trunk, i opted for swift instead and did not regret the decision.

13-14 within city, Lahore. 17 on long at 120km/h.
It isn't underpowered, but if you drive a 1.8 also then it feels sluggish, but It's a good car.
Don't forget to change tyres right away. Stock tyres are crap.

The mileage is very good, hovers around 17-19 on long, 15-17 on local. Reduce by 2 for 1.5. I have both

It has been four months, and my experience with the car so far has been positive. However, I have noticed a few things:

1. There is slightly more road noise compared to the previous City model.
2. In terms of reliability, the build quality feels lower than the previous model. This is likely because several areas that were previously made of steel are now covered with plastic, contributing to the car's increased mileage.
3. The car is comfortable, offers good mileage, and remains stable even when driven sensibly at 170 km/h.
4. I recommend changing the tyres as soon as you purchase the car—upgrading to better tyres will significantly improve the driving experience.
5. Certain parts, especially the headlights, are expensive—getting the car insured is advisable.

A key observation: Compared to previous models, the brakes feel less responsive. This could be due to the increased ground clearance, which may affect braking efficiency.

It depends, feature wise yes GLX has more bells and whistles in the given price, and it has better power to weight ratio. But comfort is not good. I drove GLX from Multan to Lahore and was extremely fatigued on arrival. Back seats are very congested. Secondly not a big fan of CVT's but especially I would stay away from anything manufactured by Jatco (which Swift has). City will have better long term reliability.

Honda City is also CVT I believe.
I havent driven it on longer routes so I cannot comment on that but City 1.2 is very basic in terms of features. If one wishes to opt for city, i believe 1.5 aspire should be the preferred choice.

Can anyone tell from experience, how sacred the Estimate Delivery Date given by Honda Atlas is? i am being quoted a wait of at least two and a half months i.e. end of April for vehicle delivery

for some odd reason they don't want to use Aspire label with 1.2 anymore, instead offering the same features in 1.2 (apart from rear vent and climate control) under the guise of "Special Edition"

1.5 Standard goes by 6 lacks roughly and 1.5 Aspire by around 14 lack rs because of the tax structure.

We got a 1.5 Standard in 2018 by only paying rs. 50,000 on top of 1.3 Prosmatec.

The price for 1.2 City and Swift/Cultus is nominal because of the 4 million tax category.

So it is very attractive.

Yaris ATIV and City 1.5 Standard go beyond 5.5 million now.

New Suzukis are good and durable. But I'm not sure if Swift can beat Hondas durability or not.

Also Swifts rear seats are flat straight not ideal for long journeys.

SPECIAL EDITION isn't worth the extra 400k imo.

Swift feels cheaper with a noisy interior. And also less comfortable. However it has better power thanks to its size

Instead of.whole.package one can opt for aspire seats, visors and fog lamps from.factory. they also.offer aspire navigation screen.

If i will.book i will.go for these customizations.

Indeed it is, thats why I said I am not a big fan of CVT, however if you need to choose between Honda CVT and Suzuki Jatco CVT, Honda is the clear winner.
