Any success on vario?

any success record of city vario on CNG or do we have solution to run varios on cng without creating CVT issues.

yes sir i do know 2-3 ppl running varios on cng successsfully.infact they are following the tips from me
i had a conversation with a fellow pw member on this issue through pw messages.let me find if i have the msgs i sent him, i ll post em here. cuz it was a long post n im too tired ryt now to write it again

MASHALLAH mine vario is running smooth n very fine on cng
but u hv to compromise on speed
this is ma 1st 1.3 car which does not make me feel good on motorway
does not goes 140 plus on cng
before using this i thought that xli/gli r the slowest cars in 1.3 category but in term of speed city idsi is just disopinting while this is full filled by its avg;)

Sir there are 2 reasons why ur car is not crossing 140km/h. the first is that ur rim/tyres are large, extra strain on the engine and 2ndly, yes, it certainly goes beyond 140km/h but ur meter is showing 140 cuz of the larger diameter of the wheels the max i ve done on cng with AC plus 3 ppl onboard is 155km/h, not bad at all , is it? but mine is manual.

the car will work only if you dont mess with the MAP signal (the transmission clutch will start to release and the variator will attempt to spin as soon as the map signal is increased) - our CNG shops just slap a TPS/MAP advancer on anything that says EFI which increases map signal for it to stay stable at idle and perform brisk in accleration. Good but not in this case

There are ways to tackle this

Vacuum ported CNG feed
Multiinjector CNG feed
CNG Feed through airbox and not venturi (requires thin injector pipe - suction assist)
advancer that signals off the Crank position sensor

bahi u r rite 15" r quite large
but idsi manual is quite good on cng but almost every one say that vario's gear will :'( on cng can u elaborate that?

atleast tell that is my car secure from gear tention how may i know that??
as the privios owner was using it on cng since some years n i drive it too from a month r so

the MAP I mention is - Manifold Absolute Pressure. Its monitored by a sensor on the engine inlet manifold called MAP sensor which I am referring to simply as MAP.

And explaining to what I posted - if your engine has an advancer that intercepts the original MAP sensor signal to advance timing - it will hurt the CVT as it is controlled by the ECU which heavily relies on MAP sensor input to adjust the variator in the transmission and release the stationary clutch too.

If your previous owner was using a MAP sensor signal advancer on your engine and your car has the CVT - it must have hurt it.

Ahhh I heard Friday Good News the Ministry planning to increase the prices of petroleum which is upto 9.43

Pocket cant afford the petrol now..

Pls advise me the tips that How can I secure my vario on CNG.

Here is the tips from Mr. Bilal Ahmed.

how can u keep ur tranny frm getting screwed up? the answer is BEFORE TIME MAINTAINENCE. heres a list of tasks i recommend for a CVT idsi to be going gud.

1) engine oil change at 3000kms max (manual can do even 6000)

2) valve clearence AND throttle body service (by detaching it from engine and also further dismantling the idle speed sensor from it and cleaning it) to be done at MAXIMUM 15000kms (normal is 20k kms, manuals go unnoticed with jerks untill 25000kms)

3) plugs to be changed with the above service too.

4) air filter change at MAX 10,000kms. air clean it every 2000kms.

5) change the transmission oil every 30,000kms MAX. honda ppl recommend doing it aat 40,000kms but remember, u gotta do it before that.

thats it.if u do all this, ur car wont be creating problems at all.infact a friend of mine has a 2005 model vario and hes been following these tips.his car has done 130,000kms on cng, still going strong...

so,if u have no other option, just go for it but get it done frm a gud mechanic and NEVER ignore any unusual behaviour in engine.

as for the kit, go for landi renzo and cylinder can be any except EKC.cuz EKC has been banned now due to bad quality.

I have discussed with Honda and they said we strongly not recommended that you install cng we have seen many varios destroyed CVTs on CNG after 10000-20000Kms, Vario design for petrol only So keep your vario on Petrol and do regular maintenance as you said above beacuse CVT already sensitive.. HMMM so mean its a big risk if we go for cng...
