No one and i mean no one is actually doing a teflon sealing here and i will later tell the reason. It is mostly used as an additive to wax/sealants. As I understand it, the only benefit PTFE aka teflon (correct me if I am wrong) offers is that it makes application and removal easier. Apparently, it does nothing to the actual wax left behind because 99.99999999% of the PTFE is actually wiped off. At one point, even DuPont (the pioneers of this technology with their product teflon) stated that PTFE offers no benefits to car wax. It's just another marketing hook.
Infact ptfe requirs a properly prepped metal surface and about 700 degrees to actually melt and then bond with surface.
So are they going to sand the paint off and try out some ptfe sealant ??
Another intresting fact is that the "teflon polish" is only and ONLY popular in the subcontinent to date. The hype of these things came about 10 years back in the west and has died off.
For those whom it has worked that good, but it just doesnt logically makes sense and no matter what you get, not protecting your car with anything for more than a year is just shear lack of brain power !
I could attribute the success to using a good paint sealant like wolfgang etc but without a proper prep even that offers suboptimal longetivity.
Just to be clear im not blaming, accusing or degrading anyone. No offense meant to anyone.
