I guess, carrier setting won't affect FaceTime. Because, everytime you reset your cell phone to facoty setting, it asks carrier setting.

Yes, carrier setting update won't effect the facetime.

as per my knowledge and info from people in the know, there are no official iphone official resellers in pakistan. not even these telecos who are just importing en masse from middle east, making them re-re-sellers. None show up on apple's page. there are a dozen shops which claim to be but are not. there are for other apple products.
if your facetime is showing up, then maybe dis appearing with carrier update, then there is hope cause that means its not hardware locked as with UAE phones, which is a concern for me cause i travel and plus at selling time that might be a sticking point to the buyer.
the u.s imported ones would have a t-mobile SIM in them but are the real unlocked ones. I'm trying to get from u.s but mediacenter in khi is letting me check at their store and also put IME no in to check for stolen. Their display models had facetime working btw

hows the iphone plus btw. even though i have large hands i found it too big

My friends owns mobile buisness shop he told me that iphone will be available with warranty from january 2015,
Although i forgot the name of warranty providor but i think it was advance telecom

Your info are wrong. iPhone is officially launched in Pakistan. iStore and Future Tech are officially Apple Seller in Pakistan. Even, you can find them on Apple.com

So, they are providing iPhone with Apple Warranty (local+international). So, i must say your info are wrong.

I have bought iPhone 6 Plus with official Warranty. And yes, FaceTime is banned by PTA and, PTA has it's stamp on iPhone box which are being officially sold in Pakistan.

whatever makes you happy. i couldn't find any store on apples site which resell iphones in pakistan. however in google search several sites claim themselves to be official blah blah. please share a link from apple's site. i would honestly be glad to know

Even, i got carrier update on my phone. Why this is not happened before this? I have apple warranty and i have verified it from apple.com. You are believing on "HEARSAY".

You can see the list of Apple Official Resellers in Lahore. And clearly mentioned that they have official iPhone.

future tech isnt mentioned as an IPHONE official reseller . all for mac ipod but this concept computers is which surprised me even when i searched. there are 3-4 shops in karachi but all for mac, ipod etc none for iphone. no mobilink, no telenor etc

So, you are still insisting, iPhone is not launched in Pakistan officially? Apple have updated some stores and some not. This is not a big deal but the point is that iPhone is launched in Pakistan officially.

And obviously, these teleco will not be updated on apple website.

No authorised seller of Apple is allowed to sell used or refurbished phones outside of USA .all opened boxes phones or refurbished phones go to USA for selling purposes . Only sellers mentioned on this page are authorised resellers . https://locate.apple.com/pk/en/
