Are Euro Star tyres unbranded?

sorry if it is a repost...

I've been seeing a lot of comments that our local manufacturers like honda n toyota are now givin away 'unbranded tyres' named "Euro Star" as their factory standard...while recently i visited a local alignment store at defence n found out that euro star is actually a brand launched by General tyres as they hav discontinued the "XP 2000" brand...here r a few pics...sorry my cellphone do not have a good cam...

These are not unbranded tyres these are made by General Tyres Pakistan Limited and these are way much better then those which general used to produce i m using the same Euro Glide tyres in my Coure and they have no such grip or other issues which general tyres used to have.

yeap it is made by general tyre pakistan..and i dun think ppl find it good..cos i've seen most of the ppl changing them....(at least i've seen many threads on PWs alone) but it is surprised to see "packed" Euro-Star tyres in shops!!..cos they were supposed to be an OEM...

EuroStar Tyre has been tested in four different countries and qualified the international standards.

These countries were USA, Germany, Thailand and Pakistan.

This is typical Pakistani psychi that they thought about Pakistani product is substandard, due to this psychi, they feel problem driving with General Tyre, and off course it is in their mind not in tyres.

Does these euro star tires have date of manufacturing on them, plus the traction, weight, top speed and other ratings on them cause general tires used to have none.

They might have qualified international standards, however that does not prove that they are the best tires for your car.

Although I agree with what you are saying about Pakistani mentality, the fact is that there are many better tires out there than Eurostar.

I am driving my new honda city since one week with stock tyres "Euro star". In my old car there were Bridge stone. If I keep the tyre pressure 28 psi there is not much difference. Untill know I drive this car 300 Km and I am bit satisfied with the tyres and not going to change them. But I dont know if they get hard after few months. People with this type of experience kindly share their views. Good day.

I am also using the OEM EuroStars on my City 2013 but have driven them less then 300 km so no idea about their performance. so maybe someone who has used them a lot can give some comments. I had used XP-2000 in my Daewoo Racer way back in 2003 and the car's brakes used to lock and the tyres gave no grip if hard braking was done. Hope the EuroStars are better as I have no wish to spend an extra 25000 to get other tyres.:S

I have Driven 56,900 KMs My GLI 2011 on EURO STAR Tyre with 2 tyres pancutured once only..... they are still very good in condition but their limit is over, so i will be changing them soon...

My NEW CIVIC 2013 is still on EURO STAR and we plan to drive them for as long as we can!!! cause we dont think they are bad!

I have driven 14,000 on stock Euro Star on Altis. No complaints, good braking and traction and tires still looks new after a year

i have driven my gli with these stock euruo stars love them and now gonna get a new set 195/65R15 asked from general in isb they are asking 5k for each tyre...

Thankyou everyone for suggestions. In conclusion of the discussion, I will also keep the stock Eurostar tyres as there is no problem in driving uptill now. Good day.

I have had very good experience with General Tyres, it is generally presumed they are poor quality.
In fact they have very good traction because they are "Continental" brand manufactured in Pakistan by General Tyres.

well the old general ones were crappy indeed every time you turned you would here noise and every time punctured...the new euro are really good i still haven't seen my spare since we bought the car..

Eurostar are good all season tires. They have deep tread and so provide good grip in mud or snow as well. They provide good braking too. However, they are a little bit heavier as compared to imported tires. The reason the dealers persuade you to buy imported tires is because they have to sell them and you have extra cash to spend.

It's been 3 years 5 months and 29,300km since my last post above. The Eurostars on my City are still going strong. Driven to Lahore, Murree, Naran, Babusar, in rain and snow, so far so good. They could be improved to give more confidence but they are fine for daily driving.
