Sir trust me, this car simply loves turns, twists and winding roads. It is altogether a whole different experience. Simply a level of pleasure. Have been constantly thanking Allah for giving me the opportunity to own one and after that constantly thanking Honda for making such a wonderful car.

Fuel Average. Cruised at 130 for a long time and average 15.2

Again after stop over reset meter and cruised at 120 with average 15.7

Then couldn't resist so started touching 140-150 and average 13.8 till the end of Motorway.

Refueled before uphill and doing 11.8 since then in the mountains

That's cool. From this it appears that oriel runs like a charm. No issues. Finally I hv booked one today. Now hoping for the best.

The Engine in the 1.8 Oriel/ I-Vtec is the same R18 which was in the outgoing civic?

This was old recall due to software issue. I had somewhat back shared the symptoms of software problem during drive, taken from US booklet.
If I recall correctly, it does say about jerks during drive. @bon747, if problem persists, take it to honda tomorrow immediately. Dont delay it.

But it sounds totally different altogether in this new civic at startup and high revs.

Maybe a few tweaks here and there.

Probably... the drive is different due to CVT. When floored it does sound different and thats the gearbox causing a different response than previous gen

Should i go for the 1.8 Oriel or the
1.5 Turbo???? Spending 5lacs almost extra for remote start and Turbo engine isnt prudent.

Its honestly a very tough call. Now with the Fuel issue getting resolved, if your pocket allows get a Turbo. The punch and thrill of that Turbo engine is great. If you are not a speed thrilled driver, get an oriel.

By the way on Motorway a Turbo overtook me when I was doing 130, so i decided to see if I can keep up. Therefore I floored my Oriel and surprisingly I could keep up prefectly at high speed. He was doing a constant 180 and that wasn't a problem for me to catch up and keep following. Then I slowed back down.

But the punch of flooring it as soon as the signal goes green is obviously superior to Oriel. In all honesty if you ask purely my opinion: the extra amount doesn't feel worth it to me as i don't plan on recording 0-100 times or laps on daily basis in city traffic.

Exactly my point! Plus i dont give the black grill of the Turbo any credit.

The silver/chrome on the oriel looks much better

Well said ! In punjab you still have highway , ring road and many more . In karachi we don't have single bump free road within city. Phase 8 is only for Sunday. Pls motorcyclists are more aggressive here as they are driving turbo.
