Arms Licenses Limit for a Civilian

Asalamoalakium,

I heared that there should be not more than 5 arms licences on single name. Is it true? I mean is it valid? because many people already have more than 5 licences on single name. If there would be more than 5 licences he would have to pay in extra I mean anything extra in income tax or would be any problem for him in future?

sir that' information you have is as stale as of 1988, 1991 & 1995 revision of Pakistan (weapon) arms license act for civilian entities.

After 1998 a person can have ONE National / provincial Weapons' license. At any given time he can have endorsement of 5 weapons, of unrestricted bore.

National weapon carrying permit is also known as ALL Pakistan Weapons Permit.

other class is Provincial weapon license issued by Deputy Commissioner of District same condition of 5 weapons enforced. However restriction of inter-provincial carrying apply.

an Assistant Commissioner / SP / Judicial Magistrate can always summon production of every weapon registered over weapons' license within 72 hours., for verification

Sir, I meant that a person can possess how licenses legally? AS I heard once that a person cannot posses more than 5 licenses.

ONLY 1 Licence is issued.

1 licence can be used for upto 5 weapons after endorsement. (not exercised by competent authorities since 2005)

a provincial license is only issued in the province of domicile. and the Deputy Commissioner is authorized for such permit.

just like 1 driving license have endorsement of car, motobike, truck etc etc.

license is single but endorsement for multiple weapons can be authorized by issuing authority.

I have heard these days they do not issue arms license unless you have contacts/references.

you need to submit a formatted application form with complete details to your area DC (provided you have a domicile / permanent address of that district over cnic). DC will scrutinize the documents and after verification from respective quarters invite you for an interview. With his comment sheet the case will be forwarded to provincial home secretary for clearance / goahead.

in the interview every DC have 3 basic questions:
1. why do you need a weapon?
2. what are possible threats which require a weapon for self defense?
3. anybody else living at same address (kin or sibling) in the household have a weapon license

approx 75 to 90 days is the processing time after interview.
once the license is issued a weapon has to be purchased registered over license (as in weapon data) within 45 days.

Provincial Arms license application across Pakistan are always open.

That is news to me. I have a separate license for each firearm. Also it states type of weapon and the number of bullets/cartridges I'm allowed to carry/buy.
How do I get 5 weapons endorsed on one license? And is it for the Nadra ka card wala license? Thanks

I have a separate license for each firearm.

issued in a province & dates must be earlier then 2009 NACTA act.

provincial book type weapon's permit will be changed to NADRA arms license (color coded to identify province) on or before 2025 under NACTA.

a holder can apply to DC office for conversion to NADRA at convenience even before 2025. All weapons will be consolidated under that Card License, with number of cartridge of each category.

Thx. I checked but now new Rules known as Pakistan Arms Rules 2021 are enforced wef 9-9-2021. Now every pakistani can get prohibited or non prohibited bore license if he is a filer and is paying a minimum income tax of 1 lac per annum. New licences will be issued by Nadra baji.
