are they moving backwards or what?, back then when my batch mates were applying, they got selected in 105 or 106 long course i guess,,well I may be wrong but this is what i remember..secondly to cut the story short and as far as I know :p, when you get selected in a long course, you can get promotions beyond the major rank e.g colonel, brigadier general etc etc but if you have done just a short course which normally spans for 1 year, you wont get promotions beyond major I guess..but the short courses are not very common and mostly they are offered in war days to recruit as many soldiers as possible in a short period...you dont need an fsc degree for that..
anyhow congrats, now you own half of the country, the rest half you'll own after your passing out
