xulfiqar bro i need your opinion regarding occasional jerks i have been experiencing in vitz 2008 powered by 2sz-fe+cvt.
i notice them mostly when i accelerate from idle @ 1000-1500 rpms however if i accelerate hard @ say2000 rpms they r not there.
i recently got the cvt oil changed just like you mentioned in your prior threads. i had the same in my belta same engine and transmission.
am i being a hypochondriac. what r the warning signs of a weak or busted cvt.
p.s rest the ttransmission works great at high speeds its just the city traffic that infuriates it. regards

need help ......gasket got burned my mech opened the head to replace her but said that the block and head is gone i mean ..k gala hwaa hai .....he is insisting to replace the engine ......the pics of both r attached ..note that engine is not giving any smoke ......and is soundless what to do ....

............its a d15b1 carb the one which comes with 89 civic stock ..............its urgent any help would b appreciated

Best to replace it with a new one or a slightly used one if you can test it first. Agriauto are making junk assemblies I think.

Replaced with OEM part taken off another car.
It was a govt car 2011 model corolla. met the driver in 3s workshop where I went for periodic service.

His car's right shock was faulty and the driver was replacing both. I needed the left one so he gave it to me. I gave him mine coupled with some money and the ride is back to normal again ma sha Allah. no dug dug sound.

The block looks corroded by the raw pictures, This is caused by using water as coolant in the engine. You would need to change the block as no repair will ever work on it.

The head looks a bit corroded but one can only confirm its demise after a thorough cleaning job and checking for stray cracks and erosion.

The block looks corroded by the raw pictures, This is caused by using water as coolant in the engine. You would need to change the block as no repair will ever work on it.

The head looks a bit corroded but one can only confirm its demise after a thorough cleaning job and checking for stray cracks and erosion.

thnx for the reply ....also clear me if a d16a assembly [head n block] can b mated with my current setup i mean the carb , distributor , pw steering pump , gearbox , manifold ......etc etc ...? which one will be a bolt on ...i had two options for assembly ....d15b efi which comes with 97 civic ....or d16a .....i`ll only use their assembly.......mech is saying that both will b converted in carb setup with no problems .....is he right ?........

Heard million times about legendary xulifqar sir... I want suggestion from you sir.

I have recently bought used Honda Civic 1996 VTi. I am trying to find some solution to following.

1) Mileage-Mileage-Mileage
- is low on highway as well as local. 9/10 KML checked twice on long tour. (Speed from 90 to 110)
(Like to drive only on Petrol) done tuning from several mechanics suggested by many friends.
- Please suggest some good mechanic/workshop and advice as i have very little knowledge.
- Some knocking sound but after hi-octane usage its low but still there.

2) Power Oil Leakage Issue.
Power pump oil is still leaking from somewhere under engine after changing the pipes.

3) I Use ZIC (Yellow 20/50w), please recommend good engine oil.

4) Summer is near should i use coolant, if yes which brand? and tips regarding it.

Also please advice some general tips for care of this beauty.

both heads can take the carb intake manifold and distributor without problem, Dont buy a VTEC head as the cam profile is really bad when its off VTEC - which you will be running all the time.

both heads can take the carb intake manifold and distributor without problem, Dont buy a VTEC head as the cam profile is really bad when its off VTEC - which you will be running all the time.

also tell me if the ride get under powered by any means if i mate with d15b efi which has no vtecs and its 16 valves ...and fuel average will decrease by any chance i am asking coz there r only efi engine assemblies available currently in khi so there is no option left for me to mate my carb setup with an efi engine assembly d15b.....pls clear me on this thnX

Yes .stock

first do the basic tune checks of valve clearances and timing belt alignment etc, then do a proper fuel pressure test and injector leak down test, also check that the fuel pressure regulator is not leaking from the vacuum port.

After that you need to take to a place that has an emmissions sniffer to test the exhaust - then the trim adjuster is used to tune it. Its not easy business and you may screw it up really bad if you dont know what to do exactly.

it will work. if you are still using the 1200cc carburettor - you will need to find the original 1500cc one which has larger throttles - otherwise you will have poor fuel economy. You will also need to make sure you have a good fuel pump setup as the original mechanical fuel pump wont work with the EFI head.
