@Xulfiqar...I have a whine coming frm the engine bay or wheels( cant locate exactly since its faint but audible)..it starts at around 60km/h then goes upto 64km/h then gets faint..Same happens on deceleration at the above mentioned speeds..Car is a 2008 Civic ivtec prosmatic..With front rotors and brake calipers of Honda Accord..Kindly help me to identify the thing which is causing this noise..P.S Front wheel bearings were recently changed and this sound was there before the wheel bearings were changed too!

inspect the tyres very carefully, one or two of them might be out of shape

Dear Xulfiqar Sir,

Hope you will be fine and doing well. I need your valuable advises regarding Toyota Prius. I want to buy one. I am interested in 1.8. Please guide me about it. I have some worries. For eg. Battery Life, Battery Replacement, Suspension & Parts, Maintenance, Speed & Mileage. I am using Honda Civic 2005 EXI and A Honda Civic 2010 VTI. So will it suit me?. How about the resale value? What are the bad points? what are the good one? ETC.

Tires are balanced and in gud shape..this sound was there even when i got new tyres and new front wheel bearings..they are yoko advan db around 1.5 yrs old and have around 15k on them..

i heard middle values should be choose like 0.20mm intake n 0.25mm for exhaust

your answer was provided by @searchingeyes which was correct,

the clearances are in mm - aim for 0.20mm for intakes and 0.25mm for exhaust valves, only adjust the valves on dead cold engine and position the cylinders from the cam pulley timing marks, as its a 4 cyl engine, the cam has a timing order at 90 degrees from each cylinder.

yes - you claim that its a noise and its from the front and sounds like aircraft when landing - that is a very serious problem, a noise that loud is most definitely completely shot bearings.

New bearings can also be wrecked during install if the person operating the press is not careful.

Okay. But I can't do it home when car engine is dead cold. I have to drive to workshop and engine is in warm condition when reach at workshop. So help me considering this condition because engine is in not dead cold and what about values at hot engine condition. That's why I ask you to help me.

leave the car at the mechanic shop for atleast 4 hours, the engine temperature is required to be under 38C when the valves are adjusted.

have you inspected the rear hubs?

no it cannot be due to the added weight but it for sure can be due to a bad fitting

jack up left side and make it rest on a jackstand

wiggle the tyre horizontally and vertically, if you have any movement you have to check what is causing the movement, if the suspension parts are good its probably the hub that has excessive play

after the above test you can also start the car and put it in gear to look for any anomalies when the tyre is moving

do the same for the right side and I'm sure you'll get to the cause of the noise.

unless of course the noise is generated from the rear.
