Honda had been recommending 10W30 API SG engine oil since eons which is more than a few rungs lower in HD use compared to Delo Gold from caltex/chevron, and if you look up the TDS of delo and uses of it in field, it is even used as heavy hydraulic fluid in gear type pumps, it has excellent antifoaming and extra stout anti shear properties.

as mentioned by SER_GTR - your car your money on using heavy gear oil in your car's transmission, It has been tested and seen a few thousand times that the end result is the owner of that transmission ends up with a lighter wallet by using heavy 140 gear oil.

this looks like the engine is moving around - check the engine mounts closely and the selector cable. Your transmission is behaving correctly by the looks of this video

Good, this exposed spring type flywheel is the original design and starts to rattle, it was updated later on and had springs encapsulated in sheet metal, that one has buffer pads in the springs, hence the need for a cover to keep it in place.

I had my clutch and pressure plates changed in July but it is unclear to me if the mechanic polished the flywheel or not. The way my car is behaving, is it certain that the flywheel is causing this issue?

your case is very different than above - the above honda city is a CVT, your case usually means that the clutch was not bed in and the friction disc is glazed over. When a new clutch is installed, it is driven around very very VERY gently for the first 20 or 30 clutch releases to let the friction surface of the plate bleed out and also to mate with the pressure plate and the flywheel.

If you start driving spiritedly right after a new clutch job, you will glaze the clutch disc which will cause shudder - the shudder happens due to stick slip grabbing.

Meanwhile - also check for bad engine mounts.

I tried to drive as calmly as possible. I checked the engine mounts thoroughly and they are ok.
So the solution is to change the clutch and pressure plates again or just the flywheel?

the input shaft is the only shaft that is sticking out of the center of the gearbox where it bolts to the engine, the clutch friction disc slides in and out on it.

Delo gold works great as gear oil for civics manual transmission. My friend @hassaaniqbal92 poured delo gold as gear oil in his friend's civic 05 and zic gear oil in his own civic 06, both MT. The one with delo worked much better as compared to zic.

I did not pour zic gear oil. I poured zic engine oil 15w40. Using gear oil in honda manual transmission can cause failure of the gear box. Delo gold 15w40 is recommended

well, I was waiting for a reply input, but in any case, a P0700 code in a 722.6 transmission can be 6 different error codes, you need a DAS HHT or some compatible scanner to pull out the deep level MB codes,

We did program the TCU, but as you mentioned earlier on, it needed a bit of time to 'learn'. The customer is satisfied.
Another guy came today... Same car...almost same problems - Euro 3.
P0700- Torque CT RL Fault
P0406 - Egr pos voltage hish
P0673 - 3 Glow plug open
P1684 - Glow plug controller fault
Our SSY mechanic is on vacation, so it will be in soon. Maybe cleaning the ERG valve could help, but we usually replace it.

Saw this yesterday, '04 Touran. Made the mechanics laugh And yea, that's why we didn't get any values.

I have the same problem since the engine swap. New clutch & pressure plates were installed, and the car was then at the electricians shop. During this period I was out of country, and on return found the car with jerks when starting from standstill.

I dont know how the car was driven during testing my the electrician, but I guess it wasnt taken care of.

Whats the solution to this jerking? It shakes the whole car for a second. Can it be fixed?

btw - the US firm called CVC rebuilds torque converters and they supply the correct "updated" ones - which have light return springs on the TCC, this prevents the converter drag and sudden stall out in cold weather which some 722.6 MB owners experience.

I have to date installed about 8 of them and the shifting goes from fantastic to "amazing"

Thanks bro for suggesting replacement of only valve seals of my khyber 99 for problem of oil consumption. My mechanic insisted to change rings also but i sticked to ur advise and replaced only valve seals and problem of oil consumption is gone. Thanks once again

Lesson learnt for others, if your car smokes on cold start and it is kind of bluish smoke and you are noticing gradual reduction in oil then most probably your valve seals are shot. No need to replace rings, as will be suggested by our mechanics. And rings replacement requires proper honing, which is not usually done by mechanics here. So one may take chance to replace only valve seals in order to avoid problem of oil consumption.

Yes its important you make sure there is no water there(between ignition coil and sparkplugs). I am not sure at what extent is this possible but i think when engine gets hot water evaporates and becomes vapours hence low conductivity. As it is almost sealed so it may not

the problem is resolved on its own... something certainly got wet and after some days it dried and back to normal. But i wonder what might be it?

Dear PW members and @Xulfiqar, I have Mitsubishi EK Wagon. Couple of days back My car was hit at bottom. After that my car started to give very bad and heavy sound like Ghooooooo Ghooooooo while on speed.

Car became heavy and consumed fuel like hell, I took it to Silencer wala as I thought my car's silencer was making noise. The Silencer wala told that the filter from where the silencer is attached to engine is choked, I didn't know much about it. I thought he might be right as it was very big shop. He had to remove the filter from Engine where the silencer is attached. While removing he asked me to go away because it will start itching on my skin. I refused and he kept working. After thoka thaaki for almost 15 minutes or so, he took out sand like stuff with some foam like stuff (Definitely it was a filter which was not anymore) and he started the car for almost 5 minutes, he connected each and everything back. The sound of car little increased but car was like flying but the Engine Check light is now constantly on, I dont know what can be the problem. Did he remove the Catalytic Convertor from the car or is this something else?
