Genuine MB MAF, replaced 40k kms ago.

thats too short of a life, are you sure there are no air leaks after the MAF? the breather caps can cause air leaks if leaking and so can the air intake boot.

aslamualikum, bhai I have a query whenever I add coolant in my ride it fills all they way and no coolant reduction when I start the car and fan kicks in. Do you think my t-stat valve is not sealing the water properly since I replaced it may be it wasn't seated properly?? There aren't any leakages though.

A friend of mine has a 2009 Mercedes Benz Blue Efficency (W204). It is 111,000KMs driven. The car is a 2012 UK import without any service history. On the odometer, the car is saying "Service B overdue by 37600KMs". The car is giving the check engine light and the ESP light won't go off as well. It is giving two-three malfunctions in the settings menu "Cruise Control Inoperable", "ESP Inoperable, Consult owner's manual", "Run flat indicator Inoperable". The engine bay is also very, very dirty.
According to him, the ESP light is on due to the brake pads being badly worn and the brake wear sensor.
He wants the car to be running smooth and is gonna have the maintenance done soon. Can you please advise about the following....

1. MB uses Mann oil filters which aren't easy to find here in Islamabad. If one cannot find Mann oil filters, what is a replacement for them?

2. What kind of spark plugs does the W204 use, like resistor or non-resistor and grade etc?

3. What grade engine oil should be used? He wants to go for Mobil 1 5w30 which I think is alright, what do you say? Some told him he should get 5w30 as a priority, 10w30 and 10w40 as replacements if he can't find 5w30 in the market. The car takes 5.5 liters of oil, right?

4. What kind of ATF does the car use?

5. Even though timing chains last a life time, he wants to get it replaced. Should he get it replaced or not?

6. What brand brake pads does the car use? Textar?

7. Is it fine to have the car's engine bay washed at a Petrol pump? Is there a specific procedure for it?

am sure the bill for repair at Mercedes shop will cost 30,000 plus. and problems will be gone.

kindly check my old and new plugs..old ones are bosch super plus f7rlcx and new one are zfr5f-11.i couldn't find zfr5j-11 so installed these one . i changed them for low mileage issue but after cleaning exhsust tip, carbon soot is still coming to exhaust tail when touched with finger however no black smoke

i need to know

1) please analyze old plugs and tell is anything wrong in combustion chamber with fuel... its consuming fuel

2) is it all right to use zfr5f-11 in plave of zfr5j-11(zfr5f-11 have tappered seat) both are almost same but seat type difference)

Mann has an official distributor in Lahore badami bagh , you can get filter from them.

am sure the bill for repair at Mercedes shop will cost 30,000 plus. and problems will be gone.

Repair bill will be a lot more than 30K. Only sparkplugs, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter and engine oil cost 50k excluding the cost they charge to hook up the Star diagnostics scanner which is another 10k. Brake pads cost 45k including the sensors.
I think that there's something wrong with the ESP module. @xulfiqar

my daewoo racer RPM is falling too low at idle even if i put that in D or R the engine shuts off, i tried to increase RPM by throttle screw but after a bit of time the RPM then still comes down, works fine when engine is cold. what could be the issue?
CEL comes on at some point of throttle, but when i release it at idle the CEL goes off what could b the issue?

on another serious issue with my G11 charade that break oil leaks itself from the rear drum brake, i did a DIY and opened the whole hub/brake/drum and replaced the oil seals which is connected with brake pistons (5/9 or 5/11 in size). then refilled the line and build pressure lock then after a while i still notice that the oil is out of rear drum and brake is not good, but today i see that the oil in the brake is vanished some where and bottle is empty, now what to do with this?

please answer bro i know ive been askin alot of stupid questions, pardon me on that.

Hello,

the brake pads wear sensors do not do anything to the ESP, they only signal a brake service warning on the dashboard. The ESP/cruise error etc. can be a lot of things - e.g. brake pedal switch can cause this, a jammed ABS controller (not passing self test) can cause this. Every error code can be read from a good tool like SDS, autologic, maxidas etc. etc.

The service indicator can be reset if you want - your freinds car sounds like a classic Pakistani benz owner who drives it into the ground because (mercedes mazboot gaddi hai) - no offense intended.

Filters are available everyday, the brands are MANN, Hengst, Bosch and Genuine Mercedes Benz. Brake pads OE are either made by Textar or ATE depending on the car build sheet.

Just like the ESP the engine check light can be scanned to see whats up - I would suggest you find a sensible person to give you a scan log for your car and then proceed to get it back into good shape.

I hope the ABS module is not jammed due to missing brake fluid flushes.

your idle speed control motor is not working, clean it out and lubricate it with some oil. if it doesnt help then its jammed and would require replacement.

for your charade, you need to buy new rear slave cylinders or get them resleeved. They are corroded and hence leaking. To prevent corrosion brake fluid change/flush is recommended every year.

both the ngks you mention do not have tapered seats, and taper seats will not even fit honda heads, they will not seal correctly. What you see in the picture is an unused sealing washer. a tapered seat plug has no washer on it. it actually has a tapered seat (like oldschool american engines)

do not test your engine by touching the soot in the exhaust tips - every car in the world will have some soot there. Your car's plugs dont show any problems to me (if the above picture is yours)

I beleive its at 100,000 kms. Its majorly used as coolant for the gearbox in your car.

Bump + the heat needle kind of moves a bit out of the optimal temp. marks. The cooling system is refreshed new water pump and t-stat and rad. cap. Isn't the needle supposed to stay in those marks? I think the ride is getting a little bit overheated. It use to be like that too before I replaced cooling system components I mentioned above. What can be the problem?

Assalamo a laikum everyone. ... carby cultus.... 2000 model... worked absolutely fine on cng.... no glitches puf puf from the silencer.... but when i shifted to petrol... the rpm goes up and down. .. the engine turned off on idle...i removed the tape from the intake as no more gas available.and . increased the "race" (air fuel mixture ) .... the engine does not turn off but constant puf puf at the silencer and the car is missing.... rpm goes up and down and is knocking.....

What's wrong with it?
