I learned the trick recently

install seal on the piston, push the piston 75% in
Seat the seal inside the caliper very neatly, find or something out of plastic to do that
Install the lock: keep the open end towards yourself, snug the round edge in then the sides leading to the open end of the ring, if you seated the seal nicely, the ring will have no problems going in this way.

caliper rebuild kits are available for most cars (the ones sold as new locally), when assembling you need to be careful and use good tools like plastic spudgers and spatulas. It is also critical for the caliper piston to be finely polished and have no pits or damage.

i'll just replace the dust boots for now (if there available) and get a rebuild kit from uk next summers
one last thing (for now :P)
my cars (Corona) steering has some play in it
like when i turn the wheels it feels pretty loose and there isnt much movement at the wheels
also when i brake at 80+ something starts shaking at the front right of the car and when going on a bumpy road
the car has rebuilt struts,new rack ends,stabilizers,ball joint the only thing that wasnt looked at/replaced were control arms bushings and steering rack bushings ialso got a broken strut mount changed with a kabli one (new wasnt available) but i think it too has gone bad
all of this was done in April this year

Hey @xulfiqar sb, and every one else, please help me choose shocks.

i own 1990 2D corolla (4wd), and its shocks are very hard. I really feel every bump in my body.

I have 3 options

1) agri auto shocks (after market for indus corollas) around 8-9 k
2) KYB (13000 at one shop, various prices at others), no guarantee of their quality

I was also cross checked kyb and bilstein part numbers and found these 2

bilstein > around 27k total Bilstein B4 Front Gas Damper Shock Absorber Insert 21 031380 | eBay

KYB > around 18k total 2X KYB Front Shock Absorber Premier Quality Replacement Excel G 365066 | eBay

In case of ebay i might need to pay customs etc.
KYB seems to be direct fit, while bilstein seems to be bottle only, i dont know what steps it will need before installation.

I want best ride comfort/stability and most reasonable price.

What would you all recommend

I have ease of purchase if i go locally, but ebay may ensure better quality

So if I scan the vehicle again and provide the error code, would that be good. Or should I just pour in some injector cleaner?

Apparently, the pump wasn't getting proper current, changed the wire. The check light now only appears if I apply full throttle at a standstill, and that torque issue remains. Secondly, at light throttle, the vehicle doesn't seem very smooth, a slight bit sluggish... Any ideas what to do

You mean its not at half? He may have removed the thermostat valve.

Check when the radiator fan switches on. It may not do so while driving unless you are stuck in traffic or stand still.

It must have happened after the switching off and cooling down of engine.
Check the reservoir bottle breather, radiator to bottle hose, coolant return valve in the radiator cap (the small valve) for blockage.

you need silicone grease, it is actually waterproof and non-melting. It stays where you put it. Ideal for brake purpose.

Be sure to service the brake correctly, clean the pad carrier with a wire wheel brush and make sure the anti rattle clips are good n tight, the pads should slide very easily in the carrier under finger pressure.

lube with an extremely thin layer of silicone grease where the ears of the pads ride - if you are putting some on the backs of the pads, then use copper or moly antisieze in the tinest amount only - brake pads get blazingly hot when working and using a generic grease will cause it to become oil and run into the friction material essentially ruining your brakes and causing a deathly crash.

clean the slider bores thoroughly and pins too - here you also use a very thin coat of silicone grease. Dont try to shove more here - the pins may go hydraulic and your caliper may bind while driving - cooking the brakes.

Thanks brother.. My problem is that my car brake pads sometime make rattling noises.. M very much annoyed. Last friday took the car to honda centre, they did the brake service but after a while again rattling is there. It seems annoying, to me culprit are those thin brake housing pins, in which brake pads are slided in. Please help in this regard. Subject car is 2005 vti oriel, 75k driven and front brakes

i have read your posts wanted to ask you a question i have swapped a GA15de in my b12 and wants to know that how do i connect the CEL or the MIL and also my EGR is not connected and the pipes and hoses are off and the problem with my engine is black smoke.

I have a big question about a very small matter . and now as I have s ingle track mind I will not ask this question from anyone else other than Xulfiquar Bhai. And I am not finding him.
what happened is very little but my mechanic gave me a very strange advice.
Toyota Witz 2006 there was a katak sound from the left front when Plus Ghoonchu Ghooncho which comes some time then goes away.
Mechanic drove the car and said keep on driving [ that is strange] and said when the sound becomes constant
like if (int x = 1 to infinity){ we will replace the axle} real heart braking stuff that he said was ( some times when the cv axle is removed then auto transmission fails and is trashed. } if(he is right){I will keep driving} else { I will keep driving in any case} what should I do Xulfiqar ?

I have 1.3 baleno and last night I parked my car but when in morning I tried starting it, the engine cranks but it wont start. Battery is new and its maintenance free Hankook. Between all of this my car started only once then I thought it's all OK but after that same problem persists.
