the slight puff maybe deposits already in the exhaust - take the vehicle out for an old fashioned - italian tune up - Also make sure the secondary throttle is opening up - I have seen a lot of them in Pakistan where their diaphragms were punctured internally and the secondary never opened up at the right time.

btw - sounds like you tuned it nicely, Does the engine pick up speed and torque faster now?

yes the engine revs nice and is responsive

second thing to note is that intake manifold vacuum varies between 14 to 19 at idle speeds and this difference decreases with increasing rpm, at about 3000 rpm, vacuum value is greater than 21 inhg and is relatively much much stable

what does the variation and the decreasing difference show?

1. Suzuki genuine are best but you can also go for akebono or nippon.
2. Seiken dot3 brake fluid works perfect

How much cheaper is Akebono and Nippon? Is there any difference in braking?

And is Seiken brake fluid available at dealership?

Does the mechanics know how to bleed the brakes?

These carbies you are handling are simple - the strombergs are nuts, nice carburettors are made by US manufacturers and the ones installed in the oldschool chrysler 440s or the chevy big block are about the size of a toilet bowl.

the old mechanical fine tuning capability of a carby is really raw and old fashioned and sometimes really addictive.

one of the major problems is the availability of parts

for ex: Suzuki doesn't stock any replacement part for this carb
the after market rebuild kits don't have the compete items... the new kit didn't have a new spring for the power piston, no power valve and some o rings were missing too for the solenoid and accelerator pump pipe

the spring for the mixture screw was not of correct length

about an year ago a shop I know of would sell very good quality needle valves and other bits of different carbs separately but they have stopped stocking such items now

I just got a paksuzuki car bro! I dont think they even let you stay with the car or use any of your own lubricants.
Their reply- "hamari policy mein nahin hai"
Toyota is much more friendly with customers and their mechanics are slightly trained. Paksuzuki people were opening a packet of surf to wash a brand new wagon r, when i went to get my fuel lid repaired. My first thought-gotta get outta here

The suzuki oem lubricants arent that bad either.
I dont know the prices for swift but for my cuore i got nippon 1.5k cheaper and they performed just as good as oem ones, but lasted slightly less(30k kms)

if you are seeing a variable vacuum reading at idle your intake manifold is experiencing some leak for a moment. Is the intake manifold temperature even? How does the PCV valve look like?

That is a problem and I have also faced it a lot of times, You need to buy and stock parts if you wish to proceed with this ahead. Its a sad situation because most parts dealers in Pakistan treat parts like fruits and veggies.

nippon and akebono are both very good. imo soft pads are better, they give better braking and also don't harm the disk.

I want to ask a question. mostly I drive my car harshly. sometime on long route I drive at 4000rpm. sometime in getting speed I drive 4200-4300rpm. I change engine oil regularly at about 5000km from petromin oil change. is it harmful to drive on 4000+ or not?

how does one check if their is an issue in the fuel system of a car? i mean if the fuel filter (located in the tank) choked, the injectors need cleaning or similar?

If you start to see the engine is behaving out of normal, e.g. getting flatspots while accelerating, messed up fuel trims etc etc and your ignition system checks out OK you can then start the fuel pressure and volume check - 90% of the times it is found that the strainer in tank and the fine filter (if provided in the fuel line) requires replacement.

I also do one additional step because I have an infrared thermometer - aim it at the exhaust ports if you can and see if a certain cylinder is running colder than the others, that is a very good indicator of bad injector.

there are far better oils out there for cheaper rates, e.g. liqui moly (lechtlauf blah blah) sells for USD 45 plus tax for 5 litre pack. Mobil 1 0w40 sells for USD 25 plus tax for a 5 litre pack.

So its like saying that I should pay more for a lower product - Yes I agree that the sentence "Made in Germany" is the most powerful marketing in the world but still one can use their head to decide on a product.

sudden vacuum loss is a leak, usually a worn out PCV or some improper sealing gasket, In my experience I have also come across a warped intake manifold which I had to face, the head was also warped (odd yes I know) it was a G13 head.
