Please guide!
When i apply the brakes of my honda city 2009 before the car comes to a stop it skids or chatters. Does not stops properly. Though deceleration is proper. Bit just before stop it chatters or skids.
I recently changed the disc pads, some malaysian brand, before that there were nissin brand. With those brakes were working fine but with some strange noise ,very mild,at the time of stop.
I observed the old pads closely, there were no shims present between the calliper and the pad also the piston impression was deep there on the pad.
After the pads change the noise just vanished, but this annoying and dangerous skidding or chattering problem arose.
To more clearly represent the problem, before the car comes to stop after skidding, during the stop process it feels that the car is moving on the gravel.
Please guide in this regard.

what is meant by skid or chatter?

is there is a grinding sound when you apply brakes?

Does the brake pedal pulsate? Does the steering vibrate?

if the gasket is new then no

if its old and you can't find a replacement then you can use some good sealant, old gasket and other surfaces have to be clean..

Xulfiqar can you provide more detail about it ? tyre should be freely hung during the tightening of items which have bushes in it or should it be on land ?? i could not make image in my mind how it should be... please please elaborate it can save nearly 100 bucks of mine

the wheels should be a position where they are under load ie weight of the car on ground. the best and easiest way to imitate is to raise the hub as Xulfiqar said

But that is the routine tappet job right? Either do grinding or replace shims with correct sizes. Right?

This head job resulted because a valve stem broke.

First of all thanks for prompt reply.
2. Skid=slip (the car slips)
3. No the padal does not pulsate
4. No major vibration in steering is observed.
5. It feels like whole car is moving on gravel(bajri), before comming to a stop.

MIRA ES - 2013 (16000 km driven bought)

1. What mobile oil should be used?
2. After how many km it should be replaced?
3. Any other special care about this car?

(totally satisfied by the car except under power and initial gear shift Sudden accelerations..)
(avg- city+AC=16, Highway+AC=20km/L, (Khud nikali hy by full tank to full tank, not by meter)

I know. Its done now.

Can u believe mechanic didn't even used torque wrench i had purchased to tightent the headbolt.

Really disappointed but only way to work it seems is to DIY

if you mash the pedal to the floor, abs will interrupt and not let the wheels lock

But sir g this was not the case with previous pads. Why so now. Brakes are scary. In emergency the car ll not stop immediately. So what to do with ABS?

There was grease between the shim and the pads. Is it ok?
