I have a query regarding engine oil change interval. I use toyota petron 20w50 in my corolla gli n change after 5k along with filter.

Now the case is that in the recent past the car remain parked n its now almost 6 months since the last oil change. Oil change was done on 20k service n now its 23k on odo. The oil has been used for 3k. Now please advice me if i should change the oil due to 6 months time duration or conplete 5k on it n then change it.

I am facing an issue of a strange sound from the head of my car, its a corolla 1.8 automatic with 1zzfe and driven on cng for 10000 kms only, after that the sound came. it resembles like tappets problem.
Is the adjustment is required as the toyota guys says that it cost 3k, any parts needed in that. The car is also blowing some un burnt fuel at high revs, fuel consumption is also not gud.
I need your urgent help on this issue sir.

step 1 - start car and remove from garage.
step 2 - drive it for 20 kms to nicely heat up the oil
step 3 - drive back home
step 4 - enjoy a glass of water
step 5 - check oil level.

step 6 chill.

step 7 replace oil at 5000 interval.

point to note - a standing machine will wear out worse than a running one.

the tappets on this engine are solid buckets, for adjustment they are changed, toyota makes 11 different sized buckets for these engines, The clacky sound on startup is usually the VVT actuator rattling. Use proper oil in it and make sure the engine gets hot before you push it hard.

is this problem relates to cng! the car is giving around 5 km\l liter, ive changed only one oil and it was 20-50w, should i go for some synthetic, what should i do now?

Bro i got a query, m replacing my rotor, n i have to replace it from junk market, mind sharing what is the actual tickness of rotor (mm) n how to polish it? Cz i dun want to give karadia for tool :s

I believe Baleno has a similar setup ?

A friend recently overhauled his Baleno's engine @ 86k. It is a classic engine heating up horror story. The last time he added water it came out of a plug hole.

Anyways, his stupid mechanic wants to somehow adjust the tappets after 1500km break in. Do you think its possible ? I am not at all satisfied with the overhauling job as the car runs funny and keeps throwing all sorts of codes.

The mechanic has also instructed him not to use any coolant,tstat valve,autofan etc EVER!

It means time factor has nothing to do with oil?

time does have - but its usually a year or so - the environment also matters.

the suzuki uses screw type rockers which can be adjusted easily. The point of no tstat, autofan, coolant shows that the mechanic should be relieved of his customer base rather quickly. The engine is about to die very shortly.

These are to heat the throttle body - if its not heated up then oil sludge from the breather can stick to the throttle plate and if its not heated up the throttle plate can jam too.

its usually stamped on the disc hat. usually a cut wont be required unless its really really grooved, if its just a slight rough rust, buff it out on a wire wheel grinder.

The car moves few steps untill it reaches the flatter surface. And its movement is like moves for a moment than for 1 second stop and other second moves again and the movement is not smooth like when in neutral on same slopes. Its like gaari jhatkay leti hai till it comes to a flatter area with a less slope i.e 5-10 degrees

what you are feeling are compression strokes of the cylinders.

wash immediately with a mild solution of baking soda and then wash a lot with soap and water.

this happened to me yesterday, i just washed it with soap and water , was preparing for an exam so couldn't search on the internet, now it irritates when i sweat or my hands came in water, just tried baking soda a few minutes ago, it reduced my discomfort greatly
