@xulfiqar, I hope you're doing good.
My 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid's electric steering has become hard. Since the past 2-3 months, the car's steering wheel has become harder and harder to turn. The steering feels heavy and makes a 'wooh wooh' sound when turned which it didn't make before. The sound sometimes becomes very loud. Occasionally, there is a 'krr krr' sound while turning.
Only the front suspension boots have been replaced with new ones.
I'm using Continental Premium Contact tires on the car which have only been driven 20,000KMs. I put 35 PSI in the tires (this should reduce the hardness of the steering, in my opinion).
I've had the car hooked up to a OBD-II scanner to check for any fault codes regarding the electric power steering pump but there weren't any errors. The car doesn't give any errors on the odometer display either. The car starts normally and the steering wheel unlocks normally as well.
On the other hand, my 2013 (PKDM) Civic's steering wheel is very light and easy to turn. It also has electric power steering.
What do you suggest would be the culprit here?
Would really appreciate your response.
