My beloved Charade G11 is back at Karachi after faithfully serving as my stead without hassle in KPK and Quetta and its time for DIY maintenance with help of a friend who is also a nerd ustaad!!!!
Issue : The engine starts smooth and holds idle like a whistle but after some running engine rpms tend to stick instead of winding down. Infact the engine has a tendency to surge rpms once its unloaded (clutch depressed) and at low speeds in rush etc, every time the foot is taken off the gas pedal and clutch pressed, rpms seem to rise say to 2000 rpms. I suspect either HIC not working or my driving tech needs improvement as I am clutching early.
Burning Question What does and how does Hot idle compensator work?
My friend the ustaad inspected and declared that No 1 Piston valves are either sticking or leaking as the car rpms do not loose more than a trickle once its plug is pulled off, whereas car dies once no 2 or no 3 plugs are pulled off while running. Sounds logical. Do you concur?
