Let me narrate my experience over the same here in Kenya,Nairobi east Africa:
I took my Toyota Rumion for a check due to CVT fluid leak..my mechanic opened the but with Allan key..L shaped n no oil came out.he then opened whole chamber and about 3l came out.he cleaned the cover,applied silicon and fixed back the chamber.
There a big but written TC and that's where he poured in the oil.
I think that's the correct procedure.with the car idling,the but below was opened and fluid run out.when no more came out,the but was prefixed and he said the level was now OK.
I read somewhere in this forum that there is a CVT fluid filler port..am yet to find it.otherwise I believe your mechanic did the right procedure.

@xulfiqar @capsat I want your opinion on a problem. Car in question is 2005 CL9 Accord. There is no check light or any ABS or VSA.

Problem is if you gradually press throttle it rises fine but upon sudden throttle car bogs down and sometime sputters but catches up later.

Cleaned MAP sensor.

I am suspecting low fuel pressure. Havent got tools so wanted your words before proceeding.

UPDATE: I unplugged MAP Sensor and despite of being in Limp mode lag and sputtering was gone. Does that mean MAP is bad?

Yeh but i think diagnosis would be similar.... no?

check for any blown up fuse in electrical box, during tuesday & wednesday a corolla was bogging down like you explained, 10 km distance was covered in 55 minutes .

scanned popped ECST fuse blown up. was replaced and its 5/5

no harm in checking the fuel pressure if tester is around, or physically check the condition of fuel filter

Quite normal if you unplug tps or map ecu will use it "old stored memory map" to keeo engine running and engine will shut as soon as you plug map back in start enginr

Which means that if stored table can run engine smooth. Its either TPS, MAP or O2. Fuel pressure can be eliminated as if it was the problem it will not work in limp mode as well.

My car does not have TPS becasue it has Accelerator Position Sensor. Leaves MAP.

you can use dmm to check map sensor 3 pins .signal, positive & negative.
