After purchase of Honda civic EXI prosmetic 2006 model, following parts have been replaced:
Engine oil
oil filter
Laser irridium plugs
Power stearing oil
front wheel bearings
air filter

Now its giving me 10Km/L with AC within city (which is also good). While i have read on PW that with laser irridium plugs it should give 13Km/L with AC within city with light foot driving (upto 3K RPM).

Average was calculated by topping up the tank; Twice from Shell filling station and then twice from Totall .

Engine is smooth and no missing jerks or sounds is there. NO check engine light.
Car was also checked from a famous computer scan (Mr Abid at faisal town) and he was staisfied with the existing settings.

Is there anything remains to be checked to enhave the existing average???
Can stcok plugs enhance the fuel efficiency??

I would suggest you to use stock plugs for many many reasons

you're already good average consumption figures I doubt it can get any better

the only benefit of using iridium plugs is that they provide you a longer service life / change interval - other than that there would be no effect on the performance of the engine

Is this possible??

@Xulfiqar bhai now that i am back, took my car out today, what I noticed is that the cold start is fine, but when the car is at optimum temperature 85 and I shut it off and try to restart it, then it takes long like atleast 5 secs. Fuel pump??

There are two versions of the gearbox, one has a removable shift lever claw which enables to remove the seal from outside, one has a welded type claw which requires full tear down - unless your mechanic is OK with cutting the claw and rewelding it back.

But I am getting not more than 11-12 KM/L with AC (and almost same without AC) on light foot driving within Islamabad.

Please advise me on what to get checked/change/replace in order to get a fuel average as claimed by other 660CC manual transmission owners.

Yes @xulfiqar bhai. Could it be the cam shaft/ crank shaft position sensor?? Or is it the fuel pump?? Coz the car is still giving out smoke..

you need to get your car scanned from someone who knows what to interpret from live data... Only this practice can tell you your next move

i need help opening my 4k engine head 80 rolla
the problem am facing is radiator gas it open like a coke cap
i asked mechanic he suggest for gasket replacement there is no oil leaking from exhaust nor in radiator

i want to open head my self at home (some day) and there is no over headcam so no need to be worried about timing chain
i think this job is easy as 2 stroke engine if am not wrong ?

5 seconds of cranking is a great deal lot of time to start a 4 cyl diesel engine, is it more like 5 revs of the starter?

the smoke is caused by excess fuel. I would suggest you check the intercooler for leaks and that its clean internally. The other thing to check are the flappers in the intake manifold.

I will get it checked after this azadi march thing clears up. The engine is hunting too at cold start fr a little while. I am really upset about this smoke issue, it just never stops, the moment u press the accelerator pedal, the smoke starts, and i hv observed little bit of rough idling..could it be the MAF or cam/crank sensor??

My father's car is making some kind of gur gur gur noise when he changes gears or accelerates. When I drove it, I felt some kind of vibration under the rear cabin's floor. This started happening when it hit a "speed-breaker". The noise gets louder when it goes up to 40-50 km/h. It has never made that kind of noise or behaved like that, ever. The car is 1995 JDM Honda Civic Exi. It has almost 272,000 kilometers on the clock. No engine modifications or upgrades what-so-ever. It is bone-stock. It had been on CNG for 40,000 kilometers. The noise is like when a fake turbo whistle is installed on your exhaust and it starts to make a boom-boom-boom kind of sound.

sounds like a wrong MAF sensor. read the part number on the MAF sensor.
