Similary dirt/grime between any of portion of this route will prevent the switch from grounding and this is where the performance codes come.I already had a Sonnax kit with new brass contacts and diaphragms.
I swapped out three of my switches with the new items from this kit. and this is how it looked after assembly.
Next i proceeded to remove the Neutral safety switch. i won't be writing much about it here coz its available all over the internet. The most troublesome part was punching the roll pin back through the rod without knowing where the hole is. Here's the photo of the removed safety switch. As expected, i didn't find anything obviously wrong with it as it was working fine but will show its colors once in a while.
Hi @Xulfiqar bhai. I have a question. I have a civic which is using 5w-30 engine oil since new.. can i use 0w-20 at the next oil change? Will it have any negative effect? I did use 0w-40 once in this car on someone's advice (drained it early though).. will never pay attention to that person's advice ever again. Will you guide me about the pros and cons of shifting to 0w-20? It's 8th gen civic 2011 model year and has under 50k kms on the odometer.
Why do you want to shift? 5w30 is a good oil
I read at a few places that the r18 engine runs more efficiently on 5w-20/0w-20 oils.
And tbh i have a few quarts of 0w-20 oil lying around that i bought for another ride which is now sold. I was hoping to use that leftover oil.
@xulfiqar Do you have any experience with ATP AT 205. Scotty Kilmer believes that spraying it on the bushes will get rid of squeaking. Do you have a first hand experience with this product?
What does your car manual recommend?
Yes, but it doesnt work for squeaky bushings.
Ive used it for its actual purpose. Its a good conditioner,
I dont understand how it can work alone and at ambient temperature, it requires a bit of heat and a constany hydrofilm coating.
This is a picture of the owner's manual taken from pakwheels because i don't have mine with me right now.. i'll check it when i get back home in a few hours.
The reason i am confused is that for this same engine 5w-20 oil is recommended in other parts of the world. Wouldn't it ok to use in pakistani made civic too because r18 engine is the same everywhere?
I have a suzuki Swift DLX manual 2013 80k km on the odo.M13a engineWhen accelerating in second gear in slow speed.Initially i feel no power. But suddenly car picks up at once.Mostly after 1500rpm.Tuning done, throttle body service done,No check engine light.Condition improves with mixing high Octane. And during tuning Plug gap was reduced to 0.80mm which improved the situation too.Normal NGK plugs recomended in manual recently replaced.Sometimes from stop when the clutch is released car knocks a little bit.Even when accelerator is pushed quickly from idle car hesitates a bit and than RPM goes up quickly after 1500 rpm.I have to push the accelerator a bit.Rest no clutch slipping or any thing obvious related to transmission
There is more stupidity on the page, one on side it says to use API SG and SJ oil which was obsolete even before the launch of the R18 engine, and on the other side it says to use API SL only.
Looks like the internee hired to copy paste this material into a book at AHMCL had a devdas moment.
Does this only happen in second gear?
No not specifically in 2nd gear.Infact in 1st,2nd and 3rd gear. But move obvious at low speeds.Or when engine under loadWhen ever the RPM drops below 1500 the acceleration is not there. But as soon it goes above 1500 car becomes alive.
What about when in neutral
Xulfiqar bhai, i felt the same way after seeing this owner's manual. So i will just go ahead with the 0w-20 oil at the next oil change which is due in a few days. Everyone's been telling me that 5w-30 is the recommended grade but i think the motor will run just as well if not better on 0w-20/5w-20 oil.
In neutral when i blip the throttle the car stutters and shakes and than rpm go up
