110°C seems too much for a diesel.Aren't they supposed to stay at 90-95°C max ?I'm a bit confused here.

Yes, thats why @syncview said,

110c is overheating,

Problem is that the pretty looking gauge in any damned toyota including the 10 cyl LFA wont move past the middle point even if you are at 110c coolant temperature.

Actually there's a mod on ih8mud for the dash gauge to work properly. I'll post a link of it.
But the problem is paki nibba lektrishans are too cool for this.

In my case the guage stays at 50% sweep when driving normally.

But lets say i did a full throttle sprint on it and had to stop at the next traffic signal, the guage will climb to 60% after stopping and soon as I start to drive it again normally it would get back to normal.
Similarly when the engine is turned off after a normal drive and restarted again within 5 mins, the guage will again climb to 60% sweep and will get back to normal after 3 - 5 minutes drive.

What could be the reason for this behaviour ?

*running on coolant since day 1, vc was refilled 8 months ago with genuine toyota 10,000cst silicon oil, radiator was also cleaned 4 months ago even though it wasn't needed as the radiator wala guy said "andar se bilkul saaf hai, safai ki zarurt bhy nahy thy iss ko", thermostat is in place but it's the factory installed one (hasn't been replaced)

AoA @xulifqar bhai i just wanna take your openion about engine oil grade for my new 660 cc alto pkdm. In the manual its written 10w 40 mineral and 5w30 semi synthetic but some people say that since its new engine this 0w20 is best. Please suggest should i goe with 0w20 of suzuki

refill - it - no use throwing away a mechanically fit part that requires a refill only

@Xulfiqar bought new ags battery 2 month ago. After long drive i found sp gravity approx 1.200.in all cells then connected it with charger which trips on 14.2v. still gravity was not 1.250. took that battery to battery shop asked them to check . They kept the battery on charge for one day and said its gravity is now ok. I checked and found same state...battery performance is not as good as it should be on cold start. What should i do ? Keep on charging till i get gravity of 1.250 (As per my knowledge trip voltage over 14.3 will cause over charging ) or should i increase the gravity by adding some acid of 1.4. I doubt the shopmade acid which was filled at time of purchase was not 1.250 as recommended by company.

the shopmade acid mixture has bleach in it also - as the water is straight from a tap, and the acid they use is not lab grade but oldschool "oleum" which has a purity of 72% max (aka gutter ka taizaab in Pakistan).

find a better shop that preps acid with contact process sulphuric acid (sold as lab use product in brown bottles) and proper vapour distilled water. Because if you prepare a battery with junk product - you get junk results.

you cannot - your shop is practicing cheap ways of working and blaming the product while presenting themselves as innocent.

Dont worry its a classic Pakistani businessman trait.

there is no fixing it now to 100% spec. However you can try to fix it by first procuring the right materials which are lab grade acid and vapour distilled water, preparing it with correct SG (use a scales/tarazoo/taraazi to confirm the SG as hydrometer is not fully reliable and make sure its at room temperature of 22-28C when testing SG)

drain the batteries fully, flush them out with water and refill the new mix and then slow charge them for 10 hours - it will bring back good life to them but not 100%, you will see a standing charge of 12,4V or so at max - this is because the battery shop uses very impure acid which leeches into the lead plates.

Asslam u alaikum xulfiqar bhai my friends santro engine oil light start blinking while driving.we consulted a mecahanic he checked the wiring there was no issue.the wiring was ok.Then we consulted our regular mechanic he said it may me be a faulty oil switch or if not then the oil pump need to be changed.The electrician then changed the oil pressure switch with japanese one (sorry i dont know what that switch is called).Then after changing the blinking was gone.during this problem there was no reduction in acceleration and also we had checked oil level and it was full.(also in jan we had changed engine oil and filter and after that it was driven less then 100km).now after two weeks the blinking had started again.My friend is worried as mechanic told him that engine needs to be opened for oil pump replacement and some other parts has to be replaced and require some expense (recently he has spent almost 15k on gear problems)he is depressed and thinking of selling his car.can you guide what should we do, is this is due to oil pump or some other issue.kindly put some light on it.jazaALLAH khair.

Spark timing is different than mechanical timing but aren’t they closely interrelated? Means if mechanical timing is somewhat out then spark timing will also be affected and so does the engine performance? To be precise how can I check from timing cover and crank shaft pulley marks or some other way that mechanical timing is correct? And is it suitable to ascertain TDC1 by removing spark plug and inserting any rod like item while manually rotating the crank shaft?

Cars have marks on cam and crankshaft sprockets which are aligned to fix marks on body like on oil chamber,timing cover while view from timing belt side of engine. Google Search timing marks for your car.,Those marks should be aligned.

I am not experienced still a newbie . Experts do correct me if iam wrong. Cam timing is adusted to control intake and exhaust valves opening and close time wrt piston position. Mostly used with performance cams to achieve high end or low end torque. Spark timing define when to ignite air fuel mixture.
