Sir I am using 5W30 oil and my running is 18000 km in Suzuki Swift 2019. I want to shift to 0W20 fully synthetic but dealership said I can not shift to it as already have running of 18000 km. Kindly suggest. Thanks

no dont use 0W20 its too thin for our climate stick to 5W30 till odo reaches 100000 then shift to 5w40

Stick always to 5w30 whatever your mileage is...
Total Fully Synthetic 5w30

Brother, best grade for new suzuki swift is 5w40
It's also suggested by all swift onwers
Or if not 5w40, 5w30 minimum
0w20 will be too thin for swift

@Xulfiqar sb my mehran efi loses ac gas every year. At the star of summers I have to refill gas since last 3 years. In 2017 I had to change compressor as the last one stopped working. As per the ac mechanics the ac gas dries up in winters , inorder to stop this I have to run the ac every once in a while.

I have changed ac mechanics but everyone is of the opinion that there is no leak. Even 2 days back I went to the ac mechanic, system was pressurized and no leak was observed. Then the system of vacuumed again to check for leaks but all was good.

Is it true that one has to turn the ac on in winters as well?

It shouldn't lose gas but ac should be run sometimes in winter to keep seals lubricated......the mysterious leak is sometimes in compressor also....from shaft seal to compressor seals itself....when I fixed ac in my car I kept the nitrogen in the system pressurized for whole night and it lost 0.1 psi and still that was a very minute leak in evaporator coil....otherwise it didnt lost anything

Yes, because the oil in the system moves with the gas. and you need AC with heater to defog the windshield also (its a safety issue). If you dont run your AC - the front seal of the compressor dries out and leaks gas as its not a hermetically sealed system.

for me washing the condenser with garden hose increases the ac efficiency

I used to get a lot of questions in Pakistan with owners who had climate control AC cars, - why does my AC start when system defogs windscreen?? - I tried to get the concept into them, but money doesnt buy brains. LOL

Because temp is already low outside, turn on fresh air and temp knob on cool, it will clear all fog easily
I do same rather than using ac
Also will save bit of fuel, not that much

sometimes outside air is just not enough to defog. in the ejd you have to turn on ac. or sometimes you dont want to let the polluted dusty air creeps in.

What you save on fuel this way is spent 5 x more when you have to replace the compressor shaft seal and refrigerant.

Its being penny wise pound foolish.

Your recommendation is good only for cars with dead ac

It has a very simple maintenance schedule, follow that with a good honest reliable (by book work) workshop.

Your car will serve you proper that way, do not let morons with tools hack up the car and say its good, with stupidities like garam ilaqa, purana tajurba, mota aail etc etc.
