No separate oil cooler thermostat... Don't have an IR Thermometer but I did try touching various hoses during the warmup phase.. the small line to expansion tank would start warming up first which makes sense coz there's nothing stopping it (as you can see from thermostat housing). The next would be return pipe section near the thermostat housing... Again it makes sense... Pipe from thermostat housing to radiator would remain cold till ECT reaches 50°C... It'll get hot after that and return pipe would go cold...
Everything points out to thermostat opening early but the thermostat is checked already... It works fine

From last 10 days, my family's Corolla is experiencing little jerks / shivering and also like under power, gradually increasing rpm when in 2nd gear & 3rd gear roughly between speed of 20 to 60 and then it becomes stable on pressing throttle when speed comes above 70 or above.

Check Engine light is not on so what should be the series wise step to troubleshoot this issue?

the return pipe getting cold is your fault sign, at normal temperature both radiator pipes should be hot.

is the system clean? - because both hoses being in same housing can cause an overcooling issue if there is poor circulation around the engine.

meaning - the tstat heats up very quick due to wrong flow rate and pops open.

Return pipe goes cold for a few minutes before getting warmed up... The hot water at the radiator inlet displaces the cold water through return pipe (as I figured out). So yea, eventually everything warms up.

System is clean, I drained it and didn't fine anything out of order. The thermostat opening early won't make sense coz the ECT sensor is mounted on the same housing which doesn't show anything above 60°C with running engine...
I've replaced the ECT sensor too but didn't help.

its a very simple system - a simple pump and line going to squirter, check that - it maybe a bad pump or broken off hose or oneway valve (if equipped)

yes - figured that out, its a bit confusing, do you own a heat crayon? or IR gun to check thermostat housing edge? - Im going to fully beleive the ECT sensor - its pretty slim to have 2 bad ECT sensors in a row.

Summarized my plan of action, i'll (a) check for a bleeder hose (as you identified earlier) and its blockage.. i read somewhere on internet that the port identified as "To Expansion Tank" in the photo above, acts as a bleeder hose too (b) Will recheck thermostat housing and ECT sensor (3) get an IR gun and go from there on..
all i need now is some time to get back to it.. Thank you
